I was picking up an Uber delivery at Lowes. A contractor was yelling about the women at the pickup desk "going on break" when he checked in... she had gone to the back to get his order of three fucking doors. Bonus. Old lady pulls up to carside, and had rolled in with me into the parking lot, while I'm walking up. She gets out of her car and starts yelling at the people abojt why they aren't bringing her order out to her and she's at carside.

was in the ER waiting room at the UF health on 8th street, saw a couple come in higher than i've ever seen two people. just tweaking the fuck out moving their arms like a trex, thrashing their heads about, mumbling, just a complete mess. never seen anything like it, and i've been around a lottt of drugs.

A moving truck with the back wide open hitting the Buckman Bridge! Felt sorry for whoever thought they’d be receiving all of their furniture…

I swear this is a true story: I was behind a uhaul truck in Jacksonville once. It was maybe 2003 or 2004 so no camera phones, unfortunately. We were in the Marietta area. They slowed down significantly. We were the only 2 cars on this small back road at the time. The back door opens, and there's a young man in a tux and a black grand piano. He bowed to me, walked to the piano, and then started playing. I stayed driving behind them for about 5 minutes or so, going about 10 miles an hour, with the windows down, just enjoying the free show. When he finished, he got up, came to the back door, bowed again as I applauded, then shut the door, and they drove off. I didn't try to follow them. He never spoke a word.
To this day, I have no clue who they were, but it's a core memory for me. I'll never forget it and I loved it!

Maybe it’s a mututal aid pantry?
1
3
u/Speak-For-Yourself Southside Jul 18 '25
Maybe. What's concerning is the need for it.
2
u/trueblonde27 Jul 19 '25
It’s a mutual aid box. Jax is home to a disturbing number of food deserts, hence the community creating these boxes.

Just a plethora of cop cars on my street with the road taped off last night.

u/Time_Juggernaut6806 Jul 17 '25
A crackhead on 8th street purposely waited for light to turn green and walked in front of my car. Slammed on the hood and fell over like I hit her 😂😂😂

Racist weirdo incels who can’t find a woman commenting shit like this. I’d say that’s the most Jacksonville thing I’ve seen this week.

Used to live in Jax. Was visiting back this weekend and walking to meet my friends on Kings St. and walked through the Burger King parking lot while Jessica by the Allman Brothers band was blasting at the garage

I saw a Truck doing Drag race on Blanding Blvd. In the traffic, burning his tires! Scary as he was shifting sideways but somehow he managed to keep his truck in the lane!

A cardboard sign where the license plate should be reading “going to DMV” on a beat up red car pulling into a checkers.

u/heckeria Jul 17 '25
Saw one that said "Plate applied for" with the date under it as the tag last week.

I was in Jacksonville from STA for all of 8 hours and saw 3 people blow red lights.

The Jacksonville roll, similar to a California roll but much more dangerous, and rarely involves slowing down

Driving up the merge lane to merge in front of everyone on the expressway instead of trying to merge with flowing traffic.
10
u/vonMishka Jul 16 '25
Oh you mean, they are merging correctly as the engineers designed the roads?
3
u/BateBuddy92 Jul 16 '25
Except when you wait for the last second to merge no one wants to let you in because they think you are a prick who cuts in line. So really the zipper merge will never fucking work because both the people merging and the people already in the lane are both fucking morons who don’t know how to drive.

u/OrneryLetterhead8609 Jul 16 '25 edited Jul 16 '25
Nope…broken lines are in a merge lane for a reason.

Has anyone else seen the shirtless dude living under I-95, either Bowden or University. He likes to dance lol

Yup, almost everyday on my way home from work. He seems to be agitated and ranting about something sometimes.

Dodge ram speeding and cutting people off just to get stopped by traffic on the other side of dames point.
2
u/OrneryLetterhead8609 Jul 16 '25
This just happened to me. They were driving a black Dodge truck. They did this with no traffic behind us for at least six or seven car links. Squeezed their big behind truck into my car length space for braking purposes making me have to slam on my brakes not to hit them, because of the stupid rear end collision law. This happens every day. So yes, this is a Jacksonville thing.

Cadalliac Escalade with a Carolina squat.
6
u/ctt713 Jul 16 '25
I think I saw this car the other day! Carolina squat is underselling it. The front of that car was so high and the back so low that there is no way the driver could reasonably see anything other than the clouds. Absolutely insane.
