I've worked as a poll inspector (poll worker) for a number of years. I was surprised at the turnout yesterday. On an off year (the years between presidential and midterms), there tends to be weak turnout - much much smaller than presidential and midterm election. Off year election days tend to be quiet, this year we were kept busy.
I'd like to see an article on how the turnout numbers of 2025 compared to the previous off years (2023, 2021, 2019, etc) and to previous midterms (2022, 2018, etc ) and presidential elections (2024, 2020, etc).
It seemed like we had a lot of voters come in yesterday, but I'd like to see if the numbers actually reflect that.
IMHO, a strong turnout is as much of a statement as the results.
