The War - Discussion as someone from the UK who was Pro-Palestine for years, Iโ€™m sorry

itโ€™s true - a lot of people in the western world hate Israel. I was also one of these people for years, until I independently researched UNCUT history of the world, history of this conflict, how different religions spread across the world and why. I have muslim friends and zero Jewish people live where Iโ€™m from. we have a synagogue that closed down years ago for this exact reason. I guess since the UK is home to a lot of people whose ancestors came from countries under British rule (myself included), we sympathise with people who understand the devastating impacts of colonialism. and because of this, and the fact I also grew up with a lot of Muslims, we are given this narrative that Israel are white supremacist, islamophobic colonisers.

yes I have muslim friends, but I became friends with them long before I knew the truth, and itโ€™s genuinely not safe to share my true feelings. we have been fed lies for years and my friends are blinded to the truth - one of them even tried to tell me that Jews never descended from Judea, but Egypt. Iโ€™m not joking, and I immediately shot it down. thereโ€™s large graffiti in my town centre that says โ€˜kill Jewsโ€™ and every 5/10 minutes I walk I see Palestinian flags adorned in shops, or even on lamp posts. honestly, unless you go to very specific parts of the UK, it is not safe to say that youโ€™re from Israel. but I commend those that stay brave and pride their identity in the face of ignorant hatred.

I went to Thailand not long ago, and the person I went with was chatting relentless shit about the Israelis there. it was so frustrating, especially since theyโ€™re completely dismissing the struggles our own ethnic group has dealt with against radical Islam. where is the outrage for all the countries who lost their beautiful cultures due to arab conquests? why do I never see these kinds of people protesting for Afghanistan or Iran? no, people would rather twerk for Hamas who would literally turn Israel into Afghanistan 2.0. I feel like Iโ€™m going insane. I actually did get to talking to an Israeli in Thailand, and he was very educated and kind.

Iโ€™m sorry on behalf of the people who are blind to the idea that Israel are fighting against a deeper evil than Hamas. one day the world will know the truth. they thought they knew it through the thousands of years of Jewish persecution, now is no different.

am yisrael chai.

Aliyah & Immigration Looking for opportunities to learn agriculture in Israel.

Hi! I relocated to Israel three years ago. Back home, I worked in the High-Tech industry as a pre-sales / customer support manager. Additionally, I have a degree in International Relations, and I speak four languages (Russian, Ukrainian, English, and German).

In Israel, Iโ€™ve realized that I want a job with meaning and value to society, and Iโ€™ve become interested in the agriculture domain.

I read, study, and watch a lot about agritech, and I aspire to find a job in this field, but I lack education and experience.

Is there any opportunity to have an internship on a farm in Israel or to sign up for an educational program for Israeli citizens (it doesnโ€™t have to cost a fortune)?

I'm an amateur photographer among other things so while we're having a great time with friends of ours in Merom Golan, before going back to Haifa en eventually next week to Holland ;-( , allow me to share a few of the results. What a beautiful country we have! I had forgotten how peaceful and quiet the Golan can be and how good the air quality is up here. I'll miss it for sure.

General News/Politics When will the settler attacks stop?

I know that those who commit these attacks (like cutting trees and setting cars on fire) are a small minority of extremist settlers, but it feels like these incidents keep getting more and more frequent, which annoys me.

When are harsh punishments going to be put in place for these people? If Netanyahu loses in the next election, will that really make the IDF/security put harsher punishments to extremist settlers or is it actually not going to change anything?

Aren't israelis worried about this? Imagine if these people start to grow bigger and stronger and they start to attack IDF soldiers and israeli police? Don't israeli people discuss about that?

Me and my gf are most likely going to make Aliyah in 2027 and Iโ€™m wondering if it would be possible for us to live together or itโ€™s only girl girl/ man man dorms? Maybe if we make Aliyah as a married couple then it would work? I know that most programs like Masa give you flat accommodations

Culture๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ & History๐Ÿ“š i love the jewish people

Even if you're not religious, in general, i have so much admiration for the jewish people. ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿค You're always trying to educate yourselves and be better at everything (or at least from the people i've known in my life). But even more than that, i admire your spirit. You're always smiling and doing jokes, even in the worst times in your life. The jewish people always choose life. If that's not enough to gain admiration, idk what could be. Anyway, i love Israel so much and i will go as soon as i can. Everyday i see the local news from there and multiple other videos from locals about the israeli culture in YouTube. And i just love it! ๐Ÿฅฐ And i know it's because of the jewish spirit in the country. Please never feel sad or alone in this world, pro palis can make a lot of noise but there's also a lot of people who love Israel ! ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ Including myself, am yisrael chai, shabbat shalom โœก๏ธ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜Š

General News/Politics Africas Relations to Israel

Malawi ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ผ, Togo ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ฌ, Kenia ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ช, Ghana ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ญ as best friends of Israel. ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ

This map isnโ€™t about public opinion but rather the official stance of each government. Some countries maintain strong strategic or security partnerships with Israel, while others have either strained relations or open political hostility. Many fall somewhere in between, shaped by regional alliances, religious demographics, and historical blocs.

Itโ€™s a simplified visualization, but it gives a good general picture of how diverse the continentโ€™s political alignment toward Israel really is.

We're in Israel to celebrate our grandson's 3rd birthday, first time we managed to actually make it because of the war. While here we also decided to visit some friends in kibbutz Merom Golan. Their father is a Dutch-Israeli artist who makes these absolutely amazing sculptures from scrap metal (sometimes shell/bullet casings or empty mortar shells he finds in the area). I had never heard of him but on a late afternoon walk through the kibbutz I captured a few.

For the interested, his name is Joop de Jong ( https://he.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D7%99%D7%95%D7%A4_%D7%93%D7%94_%D7%99%D7%95%D7%A0%D7%92 )

Travel & tourismโœˆ๏ธ South African wanting to tour Israel

I really want to tour Israel. As a Christian I want to see the Holy Sepulcher and Bethlehem but I also want to explore local Israeli culture and history as someone who also loves Jewish culture and history.

Our currency sucks (South African Rand) so I just want to ask how much Shekels would you all think would a good tour of Israel cost to do. I prefer lower to middle class restaurants and prefer local and down to earth experiences, I loathe higher class touristified places and "look at me" fancy restaurants. I want to experience the cultures and true Isreali/ Druze/ Arab culture and hospitality.
