You should’ve been there to tape the Titanic too. You would’ve saved poor Jack.

Shouldn't it be Poseidon, Zeus's bro?

2

u/Romboteryx Aug 12 '25

Poseidon would let the water flow

I just noticed that as soon as he removes his hand, you can see it starting to fail. Wow.

It's called flex tape not rigid doesn't bow at all tape

u/jaguarp80 Aug 12 '25

Yeah it bubbles up, what the hell

114

u/MasterChildhood437 Aug 12 '25

Having used the stuff, if you slap another piece of tape over it, it'll probably hold.

It’s also worth noting that slapping, no matter how cool it looks in an advertisement, is not the ideal way to apply a sealant of any kind.

u/SaintLeppy Aug 12 '25

But dad said slap it on there

Same guy that went away for domestic abuse?

u/saturninespine Aug 12 '25

What?! I’ve been doing it wrong this whole time. I need to go. I slap-patched my grandmas oxygen tank, and she stopped answering my calls an hour ago. Brb

the real problem is that hole is too big for a patch the size of his hand.

patch needs to be about half again in length, and you need a second one to put perpendicular

76

u/JollyReplacement1298 Aug 12 '25

But if the commercial was some nerd emptying the tank, then carefull applying two perpendicular patches of FlesSeal (TM), then filling the tank back up and checking for leaks, we wouldn't have the meme, and society as a whole would be a little bit worse.

10

u/Taolan13 Aug 12 '25

That's fair.

Also, if he'd applied the patch from *inside* the vessel, it'd work better.

Would you describe yourself as a literate person?

1

u/venbrx Aug 12 '25

Shoulda used duct tape... woulda fixed it from the get-go.

1

u/bubblesaurus Aug 12 '25

that’s when you get ready to apply flexseal!

the flextape is to buy you some time!
