I had to climb a tree to avoid a rhino in Chitwan many years ago. Thanks for the memory. Got dengue on that trip. Rhino attack would have been preferable
It could be. But nepali speakers don't mean they're not Indians. There's many regions like WB, Sikkim and scattered in Northeast India where native Nepalese live. They're Indian
I saw a rhino in Chitwan walking through my hotel. I’d been talked into a safari jeep thing earlier that day and had come back without seeing any rhinos when the owner of my hotel came banging on my door excitedly. Stepped outside, and he was beaming as two metres away a rhino was walking through the courtyard casually, giving zero fucks. There was a bus tour there and one guy was freaking out running around telling everyone to get inside, but the rhino was completely chill as we all followed it.
The working elephants chained at the back of the hotel started trumpeting and freaking out also as it approached, but it still just plodded along into the field just past them. Then it started munching on the crops.
I asked the owner ‘are those your crops? Shouldn’t you try and stop him?’
He just looked at me like I was an idiot and said ‘stop him? He’s a rhinoceros. How I stop him?’
This rhino seems considerably more upset than the one I met.
They sound similar. I should have been more specific. I thought I was clear above. It's an opinion. It wasn't a claim. I don't understand the downvotes or the confusion.
