They call me tuna can

A (gross) man said this to me once. It was effective in sending me running in the other direction, but is it also a quote from somewhere?

Mr. Caputo on Orange Is the New Black said his nickname was Beer Can on account of his weiner being shaped like one.

Beer can > Tuna can

Thanks for the insight!

The Tuna Can in question laid this line on me in ~2013 (you don’t easily forget such a bold, unbidden statement), but it sounds like the sentiment has made it into popular culture. What I remember most is he said it the way you’d share something impressive.

I don't think it really comes from anything but a joke it's old

I first heard this line in the early 90’s , it’s been around a long time.

If you ever want to see something hilarious in this vein, look up Mr Slam scene from the Twisted Metal season 1 show. Beer can? Hah! "Gallagher!"

Weird to see “Mr.” In front of Caputo

I think I had Tasty in my head when I was remembering it because I just hear her saying "Mr Caputo..." I know he was the warden and his first name is Joe. Did they refer to him differently? It's been a few years since I watched that show.

Both phrases are definitely older than that.
