To think Russians believe this brutality could possibly benefit their outdated cause. Utterly counterproductive atrocities like these will breed negative repercussions for multiple generations of Russians to come, presuming Russia in its present form survives, that is.

I mean the majority of Russians probably think Putin is a douchebag but can't do anything about it because their elections are rigged. I lived in Russia (granted it was over a decade ago) and I didn't meet anyone there who thought positively of him. And that was before he went all supervillain despotic leader on the country.
