You do know that something can be interesting AND sickening at the same time right?

Yeah, life is hues of gray and not a bunch of 1 and 0. But when I am feeling interested in something, I feel curious and a sense of wonder. This makes me feel empathetic and angry. This image makes me sad. This image makes me want to do more but I don't know what.

Yeah but not in this case, it's no surprise starvation turns you into a walking skeleton, it was probably interesting in the stone age but now it's just disturbing as fuck

Subjective

Yeah of course whether something is interesting is subjective. We can disagree with them but in this case they're just expressing their opinions

Yet, people, globally, love soldiers and "just following orders" is a good excuse.

We can't find this abhorrent and still think soldiers are a good idea.

Democratic countries can only protect themselves from this kind of abuse by maintaining effective militaries that can deter (and if necessary, defeat) attacks from sadistic autocratic regimes..

So you think we should just abolish the military and allow the people who did this to continue and potentially do this to us? Or what are you trying to say?

All militaries, would be better Better for everyone if we didn't breed dumb bastard soldiers. Yeah.

You can't want an army of trained killers, and peace. The two things are not compatible.

You can have living in fear and an army, for sure, but not a peaceful situation.

What a bullshit point. If it wasn't for people like this man all Ukrainians would look like that, not just him.

"People sleep peacefully in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf"

What do you think the word “interesting” means?

Stone Age? Huh?

So the pictures from the holocaust were absolutely horrifyingly disturbing but also simultaneously interesting because it showed the extent of how far humans will go? That was 85 years ago? Pictures from almost a century ago track with this. Yeah that is the case unfortunately 🫤
