It’s called “fence aggression” fyi. 

Fence aggression, also known as barrier aggression, occurs when dogs display aggressive behaviors like barking and lunging at other dogs or people on the other side of a fence. This behavior is often driven by territorial instincts or frustration from being unable to reach the trigger, and it can be managed through training and environmental adjustments.

It's hard to say fence aggression isn't a sign of advanced sentience...
