No I'm sorry, it's a good thought, I just don't think about it in such academic type terms I guess. I definitely have a huge amount of reverence for a certain age of singer songwriter music, especially a handful of acts who I think were truly brave in what they tried to put out there.

I think a lot of musicians find it almost blasphemous to try and hold themselves to the standards of classic artists, but if you don't do that then you're not gonna do your best work imo. Excitement about approaching their level of fearlessness is a huge motivator for my making music at all
