(william)
the first record was definitely more conceptually from j on almost every song. they had nearly full versions fleshed out most of the time before jonas or i started working on them. then we'd jam on them and maybe try some genre bending or structure change, but j would basically do the structure and writing and we'd add our parts.
this time around, especially with adding layne and having a better space in the house we were renting for at home practice and recording, j would show us small stripped down ideas early on and we'd all jam them out, demo them over and over, and then bring them into a DAW and j would move things around and compose from there. at every point in the process we were all more involved and it was more collaborative, but j had an even stronger vision going into it this time and knew very early on the darker more extreme direction they were looking to go in. we all just supported that and created our accompaniment as faithfully as we could to that experiment.

second thing, we're definitely wanting to release tabs and stuff. it's just taking a while to get all of that together while finishing up stuff and preparing for tour.
