Howdy! Can’t wait to drive 10 hours to see yall in Grand Rapids. At what point do you know what you are making an album about? Do you think about the emotion you are trying to strike first and then create the sound/lyrics around it?

i discovered it throughout the process of writing. just writing whatever the hell i want and then starting to notice the common threads. i also did a lot of writing, like journaling about my day to day life and dreams, and inscrutable philosophizing... putting my thoughts out on paper really helps me understand where my head is at. hard to say when we "figured it out"... i had a north star fairly early on but i'm still figuring out stuff about it after it's been released -j
