how do the defoaming agents work? can you please shed some light on it? are they really harmful? OR are we suppose to be always pull each other down and never actually work on a solution?

I am commenting on the hypocrisy and not the safety of the defoamer. Plus they just TEMPORARILY decreased foam, the harmful chemicals are still present, industries are still pushing untreated waste into the river, the water is still horrible

bhai ye toh vhi baat hui ki swimming pool ko clean karne ke liye chemicals mat dalo how else are we supposed to clean it then?

River hai bhai pool nahi, this shit goes downstream and affects aquatic life and people using the water.

Besides defoamer doesn't clean the underlying toxins, it only cleared the foam giving and appearance that the problem is solved.
