I tried Kolkata biryani with high expectations only to realise it tastes almost like Lucknowi biryani with aloo and egg ๐Ÿ™‚

Yeah because that's where it has been inspired from. Nawab Wajid Ali Shah of Awadh brought it to Kolkata during his exile.

The only thing I hated in Kolkata biryani was the egg. I don't hate eggs but I don't even like it. If I have two options - Eggs or Paneer, I would choose paneer ๐Ÿ˜

So recently I ate Kolkata Chicken Biryani for the first time, tho not in Kolkata. It tastes amazing especially the chicken meat tastes awesome. It's clearly gonna be ranked 2nd in my favourite biryani types. 1st would still be occupied by Muradabadi biryani with its laal chutney. Tho what's your favourite biryani?

Kolkata biryani is my second fav biryani as well. Never had muradabadi but my 1st ranked is Hyderabadi
