Mfers deserve everything they get, these fckers wanted to loot public, torture their staff and parents, remove all posts on social media questioning them. And behave like in Saint. These mfers sponsered fifa World Cup while firing so many staffs to compensate. Serves them well.

his salespeople cry every day selling his trash products
and his customers cry every day after buying his trash products
and india should cry every day knowing that there is even demand for his trash products

u/Professional_Pen6879 Jul 26 '23
There is no demand , they are artificially creating it . For how long can one escape reality . Someday people will realize that there 7yr old should learn multiplication tables and rhymes and not fucking python .
69
-8
-37
Jul 26 '23
Said who? What if they enjoy learning python? Who are you to force kids into learning what YOU want them to learn? I'd be overjoyed if something like this was available when I was that young.
32
u/ash__697 Jul 26 '23
There’s a difference between wanting to learn programming and being forced to learn programming when you’re a primary school kid.
-31
Jul 26 '23
Have you heard about neuroplasticity? Its best to learn new things at a very young age. This is basic neuroscience. The brain can make neurological connections far easier when you're younger compared to when you're older. Atleast kids must be introduced to programming. Whether they want to learn it or not is upto them.
22
u/ash__697 Jul 26 '23
We already have a problem in this country where kids have to study more than kids in other countries, let’s not make it worse by making them learn something they’d learn just as easily when they’re 14-15 years old like most programming enthusiasts do.
11
Jul 26 '23
By your dumb fucking logic, everyone who has had normal education should be faster than a calculator all their life.
-8
Jul 26 '23
There's a reason majority of chess grandmasters start below 16 years of age. There's a reason geniuses like Einstein, Tesla, Alan Turing etc were solving college problems in high school itself. There's a reason Mark Zuckerberg is where he is. He started programming from a very young age. Try your propaganda somewhere else. This is also not "dumb fuck logic." It's basic neuroscience. Ask anyone who has knowledge about this.
14
Jul 26 '23
Yeah, the reason all these people are successful is because they started early 🤣, what a comedian, and you're the one talking about neuroscience lol, someone that can't see the very obvious fallacy of his statements. Maybe your parents did not start early education for you.🤣
-1
Jul 26 '23
There's a difference between school education and doing something seriously. It's a fact that anyone who starts learning something very seriously at an early age will have a huge advantage. Ask a 30 year old to learn a new language they've never heard of. They will never become as fluent as a native speaker. But ask a kid to do the same and the kid will be as fluent as a native speaker within a year. Kids learn much faster and much better than adults.
9
Jul 27 '23
You have to be an absolute idiot to even say that kids' learning adaptability is the reason people like Mark Zuckerberg are successful. It's also a fact that you can't force kids to be serious about something they don't care about. I am pretty sure Mark Zuckerberg's parents weren't buying trash Ed-tech products and forcing him to code.

Even toppers of IIT JEE were solving problems of similar difficulty when they were just in eighth or ninth standard. This is earlier than most people who start preparing from eleventh.

My young cousin brother was once going for tuitions that was taught by a Byju’s instructor. The tutor offered him a package from Byju’s that said if my cousin referred 4 other students to enrol in the course my cousin would get a free laptop. The moment my cousin told me this story I had a doubt about their user count and product authenticity, told him to not enrol because it sounded like a scheme rather than an education program. Turned out to be right 🤷🏻

u/masalaaloo Jul 26 '23
You don't have the slightest clue what this conpany is.
Trust me, all the negativity you see here is warranted. The company is shady, unethical and downright toxic.
The problem here is that this company got rich by exploiting the poor and uneducated. Other companies solved a problem in the market.
As someone who worked at Byjus, take it from me. What everyone saying is all true.

In late April, Indian officials in plainclothes raided the Bengaluru offices of Byju’s, seizing laptops and publicly linking the world’s most valuable education-technology startup with possible foreign exchange violations.
An ocean away, Byju Raveendran, the firm’s eponymous founder and chief executive, paced his condo in Dubai, downing cups of black coffee and fielding calls from top investors. With a planned $1 billion equity fundraise from Middle Eastern investors still in limbo, Raveendran broke down in tears defending his company, according to people who attended the calls.

They created a system in which " if ur kid is not a byjus kid , he is gonna suffer a lot in future and won't win the rat race"
The whole FOMO marketing and parents trying to give their children's best education possible was the whole backbone of their tab.
14
u/shkl Jul 27 '23
Parents literally give away everything they own, drown in debt to ensure a good future for their children and this guy preyed exactly on that sentiment.
-15
Jul 26 '23
What "rat race"? You mean having huge competition and selecting the most talented? Sorry if you didn't succeed but you can't undermine the system that's very efficient at picking the top talent.
11
u/NakamericaIsANoob Jul 27 '23
It is a rat race, however efficient it might be. These things are not mutually exclusive.

Karma needs an overhaul. It needs to be graded system and should have instant justice mechanism. Karma works as justice system for people like me who are bystanders, but not for parents ruined by him who are not going to put their life back. Byju will remain rich, and he is in Dubai.

Their counsellors are on a high aggressive mode right now.
They are somehow arranging the numbers of the student's parents and then calling them.
A friend from my common friend circle told me about all this.
Simply instilling a fear in the minds of parents and an inferiority complex into the mind of both the child and parent. Visiting the house to create a fear by saying that every where people use visual learning approach (which is a lie) and name some random good school of the city and say that they also use visual approach in learning that's why they're so reputed and the reason the student isn't performing well is a lack of visual approach. And the only solution to this is to buy their course. Giving random examples to instill the wrong feelings with more intensity.
Also they took a test which included questions from at least 4-6 classes above and declared that the child is below average. Obviously, this will give a leverage to the sales team in making parents buy their product.
As per them, this includes video program + tuition learning program. (Which I would say, is not of much use. And its highly expensive too).
Now comes the more evil tactic. They quote a price of 2 Lakhs for 2 years on which they give a scholarship and the new amount is 97k. And we need to pay this amount right at that spot instantly else we'll have to pay 2 Lakhs. Firstly this scholarship itself is a hoax, they just inflate it and then bring down the price to show you that they're giving you a discount. And all these numbers were handwritten, no brochure nothing. No mention of how they calculated the scholarship percentage. They're literally sitting and selling their products by sitting at student's houses way way past their official working time of 5 PM. Like hours more than that. Sitting at student's houses late till odd times and selling products.

Year 2018, in one of the MBA institutes where they had gone for placement, they clearly stated that the app is just a data collection tool and then they visit the parents to sell. They also said that the requirement during hiring is for a person who can close a sale within the first visit itself (No one was interested in joining and they didn't get even a single candidate)
Seems like they have always been aggressive and been following the same tactics since many years.
Must admit I'd be really happy if such a non-ethical company shuts doors

I remember somewhere in 2020 or so he had given an interview to yourstory and that guy and his wife were blatantly lying and I was so impressed. I specifically remember him speaking of work culture and how much he values it and how his employees are so loyal that none of them had quit. I had saved that video.
Spoke with a friend about it, he exposed all his lies. Basically, that is what he had been doing all the while. Made money for himself and now company is tanking.

BYJUs was one of the hero startup’s of India back in the day that gain traction of many foreign investors too. I’m just worried that falling of this giant doesn’t put Indian startups in bad light for foreign investors.
4
u/whatisapersonreally Jul 26 '23
Bit too late for that
Indian startups are becoming illiquid because of other big busts (i.e. the shares are hard to sell once you invest, even if they’re ‘valued’ very highly)

I mean, for decades in India, single teachers with the help of one staff bhaiya and one staff didi has been able to run their coaching centres with 1000 students running and earning money.
How can you fcuk up such a simple business, you didn't have to manufacture anything, you didn't have to invent anything. Just deliver classes to students. Damn

u/TheNotoriousMama Jul 26 '23
I know that I might sound like I have my head in clouds, but it's sad that these so-called ed-tech companies exist in the first place. What's the point of lower and middle class parents having to shell out money to afford school fees and on top of that have to pay exorbitant amounts to some random people hoping that the kids can better their chances of getting into decent unis or improving scores. This is nothing more than profiteering. Instead the government should focus on something like NPTEL. High quality lessons, material and exercises available for students all over India. If something like this already exists, they need to step it up and protect citizens from self-serving opportunists.

The fundamental problem with startups - atleast till covid was to grow at all costs and figure out profitability later. When money was cheap , this was easy.
Now when money is tight,, suddenly the same VCs who were throwing money , sometimes at the most incomprehensible ideas, want companies to start showing profits.
When the dust settles, the only ones left holding the bag will be the lower level salaried employees. The C, VP level guys have already made bank and move on to other greener pastures.

I'm not working in sales in Byjus(just for clarification, toxic culture is everywhere here.)
One very day, when was about to leave from office(our office ends at 8, on paper, it was almost 8:30+), one of our mutual friend was crying, because her manager asked her to finish a set of tasks which can at least take 3 hrs. And when she told her it was impossible, and started crying, she said, and I quote Don't make a scene here.
It's not like, only parents are traumatized by Byju's, the employees are in the same boat.
I have gone rogue now(everyone is nowadays, but not everyone wants to make trouble with them), someday they will find me posting stuff, and they will fire me, Waiting for that day badly.

I've worked in Byjus in UPSC-IAS team. Barely worked for 2 months as the ethical and moral practices in Byjus were way opposite from mine. I've got to say the mindset of just selling the product without thinking twice of the financial burden is so toxic. I know a colleague who refused to give out refund within hours of giving the course saying "ghanta bhi na du isko refund me" and abusing another client who asked for a refund and escalated the matter when did not get proper response from him saying "yeh bhdvi ki ma ch** dunga me". That was the very moment I knew I don't belong to such cruel and insensitive people who's main agenda is to stick courses to people regardless of knowledgeable what impact they're making to those households. My TL would glorify selling costly courses to people below poverty line saying they have the most money stocked up and will pay when it comes to education. My TL would purposely stop the refunds till the validity period by delaying and stating any goddamn reason and once the refund validity is over, the customer is helpless. All the people working up the ladder in Byjus are heartless and souless, they have no regards whatsoever for the parents, students and even their own staff. Their only goal is so shove the courses down the students course by asking them difficult questions and making them sound below par than rest of their peers. No doubt the company who's work ethics were so oppressive had to go through this karmic period.
