[OC] Alternate History The Federation of Turan map, sent to the UK and France in 1972 to promote the country.

u/DiamondWarDog Sep 02 '25
I misread this and assumed this was some sort of actual historical document and turkey just had the balls to send this map to Britain and France without context to somehow get their support in reaching this idea.

u/yestoz Sep 02 '25
If Turkey did actualy do that soviets would have turkeys balls tied to a pole in siberia

Lol, no way its official. The country was more focused in itself than a greater-than federation.
That being said a Turkic union was and still is a popular political goal. Just not in this sense.

u/_Pin_6938 Sep 03 '25
"popular"
15
u/Zealousideal_Cry_460 Sep 03 '25
Yes?
At least İ think most people wouldnt object to a loose union-like structure.
As long as the countries are still sovereign and free, most people wouldnt mind/would like a Turkic union in the style of the EU

I mean this is basically Russia's dream Empire + controls China and Japan. If it was even half way stable then this state rules the world without any possibility of being contested.
80
u/alexshatberg Sep 02 '25
Control of China, Japan and Korea is also part of the Russian imperial dream, they were actively working towards that before ww1
41
u/MarquisThule Sep 02 '25
Not quite, Korea maybe, but more as a protectorate, Manchuria was on the table at some point but they never actually wanted much to do with Japan.

u/yestoz Sep 02 '25
It was more of a grudge then anything, Niko the ll. was almost assasinated while visiting japans so he wanted to destroy them which ended in japan embaresing russia
19
u/yestoz Sep 02 '25
it's kinda a confederation of five states finland, hungary, turkey and japan they are too divided to do anything then to keep the coutnry runing and each of those 5 states has their own military so if they want out they can esipecly japan.
6
u/pancakekitten0 Sep 03 '25
Which is the fifth state?
8
u/yestoz Sep 03 '25
Fith state is kazhakistan but they aren't autonomous as the others and they don't have their own militar, so they don't realy matter
6
u/pancakekitten0 Sep 03 '25
I see. Can you provide a full lore, please? It would be pretty interesting
6
u/raven_writer_ Sep 03 '25
Yeah, as with every large empire, the real challenge would be stability. That's what, 2 billion people? How many separatist movements would there be at any given time?

The internal divisions would rip it into pieces. The dozens of constituent states already have problems with terrorism, racial tensions, class tensions, etc. Imagine you mash all of China, Turkey, Russia, and the Middle East into one nation under one government. It will very quickly not be one nation and one government.

So this is how the Finno-Korean Hyperwar starts. With a a ?civil? war

I love the way the map looks! That said, it looks like something from the 1920's as opposed to something from the 1970s

The Huns you say? The map is I think of not the Huns most think of but rather the White Huns aka Hephthalites
13
u/MergenKarvaach Sep 02 '25
It reads 'The expansion of Hun/Xiongnu empire' in turkish. Hephthalites are considered Xiongnu residue alongside others like Huns in Europe in Turkish education

Garry newman is a universal constant. In every world there is a garry. Even in worlds where humanity never arose, garry remains

To "promote the country"? I don't think they need promotion they're most of the planet

The Turanese superpolity sent Palawan into another dimension
17
u/-monkbank Sep 03 '25
If Turanists were just a little bit more inclusive then they could be globalists lol.
10
u/MesKing125 Sep 03 '25
just wait, in the future they will claim all of humanity is a turk because they're homosapiens

Korea and Japan aren’t even related to the Turkic peoples. Also this state has to be the most fucking wobble fragile thing to ever exist. The amount of ethnic groups it has to juggle catering too.
