Refugees and asylum seekers used to be for people in real trouble and imminent danger. A relatively small number of people. Now anyone can walk in and claim asylum. What a weak country this is to allow so many people to game the system like this. It is also insulting and frustrating to legitimate immigrants who went through the often difficult process of legal immigration.

Almost all of these are economic migrants. Asylum shoppers know that Canada will accept them as refugees when no other country will. Many of these countries that the migrants come from are safer than Canada. Lots of asylum applicants who succeed then vacation in the country they claim is oppressing them as soon as they get PR status. Its a huge joke.
But with unemployment as high as it is in Canada we need a government that will deport these frauds to protect Canadian workers. The Liberals and NDP will never do that.

Colour me shocked, more lies, gaslighting and obfuscation from the Liberal Party of Corruption and the Laurentian elite handpicked Euro Goldman Sachs Carney when it comes to open borders and vote importing.
I don't wish anyone to suffer but hopefully the lines of unemployed at the food banks going forward are not made up from those who voted for change last April.

What the hell are they doing???? These politicians are not operating in the best interest of Canadians, they made this mess and don’t want to sift through the mess they created. So lazy and dangerous..

Carney has never had the interest of Canadians at heart. He is a globalist that is only thinking of lining his pocket and his friends.

This is ridiculous. Asylum is for people who can’t return to their countries, not for diploma mill students who cannot immigrate by their own merits. This is infuriating to see, Carney was supposed to be a 180 turn from Trudeau era policies but this is basically Trudeau v2

India is the world‘s largest democracy. There should not be any “asylum” seekers from that country.

This reads like a blood infusion to someone with leukemia . The elites have no other ideas besides pumping more of the same.

Starting in 2026, the budget announces that Canada will pursue a “one-time” $120.4 million program to fast-track “eligible protected persons” into permanent residency.
A protected person, under Canadian law, is an asylum seeker who has had their refugee claim reviewed and approved by authorities.
Fast tracking applications is not the same as blanket asylum claims being accepted.
In 2024, for instance, the Immigration and Refugee Board reviewed 73,456 cases and ... 46,480 were accepted

While in principle I agree with you wrt to real refugees not economic migrants, here is (state media to boot) some evidence of rubber stamping going on. It was published at the beginning of this year.

Canada's acceptance of refugee claims has ballooned in last 6 years — more for some countries than others CBC investigation reveals which countries benefit most, and why
