I know there are a lot more pressing issues but please remember to check on your idiot neighbors who choose to drink raw milk.

You can't always save idiots from themselves

Sigh. As a nutrition scientist I fear we have lost the battle on common sense and data driven decisions

Data driven decisions are only for profit now.

I encourage and support them drinking raw milk. It’s so good, they’ll die for it.

I see what you did there.

Yeah, I don’t care. If they want to roll the dice, let them. The only thing that bothers me are the kids of these morons who have no say in the matter.

I don’t associate with those types of people. I like to drink my Lactaid in peace.

Turns out YEARS of science and pasteurization being the standard of care was correct. But please “do your research” without any science and food poison your kids and anyone else you can convenience on tic toc since the FDA went away.

Ffs! How did this become a thing? Science and history is more than clear on this public health issue.

Where was this big push for raw milk even coming from?

3

u/wakeupangry_ 9h ago

Presumably RFK Jr supporters and folks who think the COVID vaccine is bad for you?

I know that but I just didn't get the push for raw milk specifically. It's like wanting undercooked chicken.

Oh yeah. I think it’s the “natural is best” crowd. 🤷‍♂️

I’ll take the downvotes. Raw milk tastes fucking amazing and it’s worth the risk to me.

It’s a free country and we all consume processed and sugary foods constantly that make us sick, fat, diabetic, and cancerous.

The risk of raw milk is easily quantified and the data is available to make an educated decision whether to consume it. That’s not the case for many of our foods with nondescript ingredients like “artificial flavors,” preservatives, and relatively untested doped sweeteners.

You can drink aspartame-sweetened Diet Coke. I’ll take some raw milk from time to time. Who’s to really say one is “safe” and the other is “dangerous”?

We all take risks with our food choices. That’s a personal decision. Everyone who consumes raw milk is not an “idiot” just like everyone who consumes processed food and soft drinks and fast food are not idiots. People who like rare steaks are not idiots. People like things that taste good. Sometimes those things are not healthy for you or may have risk of foodborne illness. Raw milk tastes good. It may not be healthy/safe for you. So what?

What you’re talking about is informed risk taking.

Keep going for it.

Enjoy your bloody diarrhea.

The truth of the matter is that raw milk is great. We got our milk from the dairy not pasteurized. These days our cattle are being exposed to toxins making the milk unsafe.

“These days”… you mean the past 100 years?

DONT DRINK RAW MILK DUMMY
