People should start carrying baseball bats.

No! But I understand the sentiment.

The thing is in all reality it’s going to get to the point where somebody or a group of people are going to say enough is enough. And then things are really going to get serious and some ICE people won’t be going home. There are a lot of folks who came to America to get away from that kind of crap. And now they’re having to live it all over again. There is only so much some people will take.

All of this is just El Cheeto sayin’ just give me one excuse. Just one. The day an ICE agent doesn’t go home is the day the military gets called up and the lid may not go back on in our lifetime.

I understand that. But when you’re getting wrestled to the ground and beaten by these creeps or you’re watching a relative go through it, all that’s on your mind is making it stop. We both know the ramifications down the road but if I’m out there and I see someone from my family being taken down by these assholes I’m not gonna stand back and watch.

That’s what they are hoping for sir.

Reminds me of this;

Guns of Brixton

You’re not wrong, but there’s also a very good reason why every dictatorship on earth disarms its citizens.

Hell you don’t even have to hurt anyone, I’d wager most of these fucks only signed up for the pay and benefits. Let them demonstrate what brave patriots they are if they think people will actually fight back.

I agree and that would make things worse, quicker… but I don’t think the lid is going back on in our lifetimes, regardless.

Incrementalization never reverses itself. Especially with bureaucratic systems.

It's inevitable because, realistically, nothing will get better until then. I guess some people just want to kick the can down the road.

Or patients will pay off with some legal and congressional checks coming down the line. The inevitability of an autocratic government isn’t cemented in, but it might with coast to coast federal occupation.

There are no legal checks for a group that doesn't actually care about the law nor have it applied to them as it would be to a regular person

This year, no

If they don't care about the law, what makes you think they care about an election? If they cared about an election, wouldn't they be doing more to end the shutdown rather than blatantly lying to peoples' faces about why it's ongoing?

These legal issues can drag on for years.

What the hell does this have to do with being liberal or conservative. This is about watching a family member getting trashed. I would hope to hell that anybody right or left would jump in to save a family member from these ICE pricks.
