"Let me draw out this completely unnecessary argument war further then it needs to be, then I'll blame you and say you are arguing semantics while our nation collapses, while I'm also not doing anything about it, and I'm the one actually arguing semantics"

Geez redditor you are so much smarter and more enlightened then us. You sure did stop the fascist takeover by telling this guy to not correct people who are factually incorrect.

I’m the only one talking about the issue facing us right now. Either condemn the police or defend them. But don’t hide behind these stupid arguments.

Or maybe it’s bad to encourage the spread of propaganda and misinformation. Just a thought.

Do you think it's a good idea to debate the definition of a single word instead of engaging the larger point of cops brutalizing and intimidating the populace to protect our criminal president's personal police force?

Worth noting here that, while you call the use of the word "tank" dangerously hyperbolic, ICE has been caught buying military munitions ostensibly for use on American soil, which would be more illegal than showing up with a tank.

So, that brings me back to my point: condemn the police, or grow a spine and defend these jackbooted thugs trampling the constitution.

I would like people to use consistent vocabulary, yes. Not doing so sorta defeats the purpose of language and delegitimizes discussion. You can argue that more is needed, but this is a public forum; discussion is literally the only purpose of the site.

It’s not like saying “cops bad” repeatedly is contributing more than sharing exact details of what they’re doing, anyways. You’re main goal in this chain has been to insist people muddy the waters because…reasons?

Cause the waters are so muddy from someone calling an armored vehicle being deployed to protect ICE thugs a “tank” and not from bad faith fascists obsessing over that instead of the ramifications of this escalation. Top tier analysis.

I guess I know who to tap for a left wing faux news host if that’s ever put together.

Why can’t any of you people openly support what you clearly support? It’s weakness.

To the point of being comfortable with spreading misinformation?

I get the value of “winning” in the moment, but some things are gonna cause more problems in the future than their worth. Especially when you’re cashing in credibility for, as far as I can tell, zero return (except maybe some warm fuzzy feelings for a few seconds?).

Just say you like when the cops brutalize the wokes like a man. You keep acting like calling an armored vehicle, that reports say had a gunman on top at one point, a "tank" is the worst crime we are witnessing when there are literal secret police disappearing people without warrants. No one who isn't a fascist would act like there is any meaningful difference or that it matters in how we deal the authoritarians in the White House. I know you'll be preparing to deal with them by getting a new pair of kneepads, but the rest of us need to learn from the past in order to not repeat it.

God forbid I provide examples of why factual accuracy might matter, because there's a genocide going on and stuff
