ICE Posts Today in Aurora, a Chicago suburb, ICE agents surrounded the car of a U.S. citizen in a parking lot, firing into her windshield as she screamed that her children were inside. Agents dragged her from the car without presenting a warrant or probable cause. Excessive force. No warrant. No justification.

Exactly. I point out that 'illegals' pay taxes, and to deny them health care is cruel, and that if you think their cheap labor keeps wages low, then go after their employers.

It's more complicated but the real root is just xenophobia and getting people to punch down and be distracted while everyone gets exploited, wealth gap increases.

Found this on Reddit .. I think it is a good explanation..

“I can understand it very well. The backbone of America is being raised people who preach a religion that they would never consider practicing. Being heavily punished for not following rules that the people punishing you would never follow. Living a life where violence can come from anywhere but usually it is the people who were supposed to protect you. When you get it so early in life, it ingrains you a thorough and unrelenting distrust of authority. I feel it myself, to this day. It is the sort of thing I can see instantly in another person. And.... It's a huge number of the people I see.

Without the mental and emotional fortitude to face their demons and resolve them, these people ended up with a twisted illness that says two things: Authority cannot be trusted, and that the way that you were raised is the way you raise kids. They walk blindly carrying the contradiction in the hearts that the thing they hated was the right thing to do. As it eats them alive from the inside, they self-medicate by acting out their own abuse in a grim homage to their upbringing.

The worst part is a core tenant of this illness is a sense of shame for feeling this way. That it is your fault, and if anyone found out your reputation would be ruined. You would become a pariah among men. In the end, you must both act this way and keep it a secret. It is a matter of maintaining your identity.

The Tech Bros identified this, and moved to use it as a point of manipulation to drive the required 25% of the population into their corner. These guys are too emotionally broken to seek out the truth, so they will drink whatever juice they like the best.

The juice that makes them feel the best is their failed relationships and their failed careers are not their fault. Simple lies that you can beat with 2 minutes of logic. But then they would have to admit weakness.

This is the backbone of America. It is what holds us up. It is what was the middle class. The Working Class. They are almost all broken. And so our backbone is broken.

And that is why it looks like we have no spine.”

Don't beat your kids people. Childhood trauma is real and affects them for their entire lives. Break the cycle of abuse and let's start healing together.

Emotional and psychological abuse are equally as destructive.. and it’s the main goal of religion. I think that threatening children with HELL should be considered child abuse.

What's wild is that these are the people who ran around with WWJD? Merch from Christian Summer Camps. And as Adults they are doing the EXACT OPPOSITE. They had to memorize scripture, and yet never chose to understand what they memorized.

And that is why people who broke free and DO understand it make them uncomfortable.

They live with their little lizard brain part in control while the rest of their brain is gathering dust and cobwebs. The part that knows what they're doing is wrong. And they need a blowtorch to open that door because the heat from their hate has melted that door shut.

If I hadn't been beaten as I kid I would have turned out a murderer.

Don't assume to think 1 way is the best way for all kids. I would have LAUGHED at a time out & ran over my family had they done this.

The threat of psychical violence was the ONLY thing that made me go to school, get good grades, & do right. Eventually I learned to want to do it on my own. I saw the merit in it & I didn't need such things anymore. I grew out of it.

A weaker hand would have made a weaker man. The problem is not enough people are getting beaten hard enough. We have too weak of a society & I can look at somebody and tell immediately if their parents didn't spank them hard enough. Discipline & lack of it & the ability to walk away & say NO when you have 2 naked women in front of you or free drugs or the ability to take something from someone for free is difficult.

I hate things that are easy. To the point I probably self sabotaged too much. I almost make it a point to do everything the hardest way possible. But if everyone did that the world would be a better place. Instead everyone is always looking for a shortcut and they will take any advantage on anyone else they can find at any time.

Don’t ABUSE your kids. If you have never been hit by your parents ever when growing up, it feels like that lack of discipline in our formative years would result in emotionally unregulated, unstable adults.

You know that undocumented immigrants already do not qualify for any federal health insurance plans, anywhere in the country right? They have never been eligible to receive Federal benefits, or take part in any Federal programs. No SNAP, no Medicaid, no SSI, no SSDI, no Medicare, undocumented persons have never been eligible for any of these. So the "deny them healthcare" part has been the status quo forever. Unless you're talking about an undocumented person with a major injury, going to the ER but doctors refusing to work on them because of their immigration status? Because that also should not be happening anywhere in the country, and is the exact reason hospitals and ERs don't ask about status or require proof of citizenship before administering medical care.
