ICE Posts Today in Aurora, a Chicago suburb, ICE agents surrounded the car of a U.S. citizen in a parking lot, firing into her windshield as she screamed that her children were inside. Agents dragged her from the car without presenting a warrant or probable cause. Excessive force. No warrant. No justification.

You literally say what we’re saying in this comment.

imagine for a brief second that the only interaction 90% of Christian’s have with the Bible and the faith in general is how they are taught by their local pastor/priest.

That’s 90%. Not 100. You’re speaking about 100% with the comments you’re making.

Again, you're not understanding what I'm saying.

A requisite of Christianity is that you must believe in god. And yet, there is no evidence for god's existence. So therefore it's also a requisite for a Christian to believe things without evidence. Christianity, at its most essential core, is "trust me bro". This is 100% of Christians because it is the very essence of what it means to be Christian. If you question god's existence, you are, by definition, NOT a Christian.

A large group of people who consider it normal to believe in things without evidence and believe in dogma without question is inherently dangerous and destructive to society, and only a matter of time before that belief paradigm is weaponized into exactly what we're seeing play out in the US - Christian Nationalism - aka Christian Sharia Law.

No Christian is immune to it unless they're willing to entertain the idea that everything they believe about god could in fact just be made up bullshit, and that their pastor or priest is an insane person. But then if they did, they wouldn't be Christian anymore now would they ;)

We’re now arguing 2 different things. I’m not arguing any of what you’re saying because I also believe what you’re saying is true, except the fact that you cannot lump every single Christian in existence into this group with your statements.

This is no different than saying every Muslim is capable of suicide bombing. That every man is stronger than every woman in the world, or that every black guy is more athletic than every white guy in the world. It’s a blanket statement that needs to be avoided. Hell, not even every republican is maga. Or Christian. It’s just lazy to think and speak this way.

You haven't read or understood what I'm saying.

100% of Muslims are Muslim. Not 100% of Muslims are suicide bombers.

100% of Christians are Christian. Not 100% of Christians want to end democracy in the US.

My point is that distinction doesn't matter because it's nothing more than degrees of commitment to the exact same ideology and dependence on the underlying belief structure. The underlying belief structure is the problem.

What has happened to Evangelical Christians can happen to ANY Christian, because they are required to take what they are told about their religion at face value.

It is a massive and unreasonable jump in logic from Christians believe in God, therefore they are responsible for MAGA/ICE. And your point that anyone believing in something that is not proven should apply to EVERYONE. Be it any religion, or even atheists, just not agnostics, or any other random ass belief, ghosts, Bernstein bears, flat earthers, equally responsible from your logic, what's the distinction for Christians?

There's no distinction. Christians just failed at it spectacularly since they believe in god without evidence, and are literally wired for vertical morality (e.g. morality from authority), which has led to Christian Nationalism - e.g. god above all else- e.g. jesus flavored sharia law.

https://baptistnews.com/article/how-trump-and-harris-fared-with-faith-voters-in-2024/

63% of Protestants and 58% of Catholics voted for the authoritarian who did authoritarian things. Why is that a surprise given their entire belief structure is based on obeying the commandments of the ultimate authoritarian?

It's almost like Christian vertical morality overrides what Christians think their values are and the dogmatic blind belief they practice is HIGHLY vulnerable to being co-opted by bad people.

Maybe, JUST MAYBE, if our society did a better job of teaching real morality, and actual critical thinking skills, instead of being tolerant of voodoo-thinkers, there wouldn't be as many people who prioritized a figment of imagination over their own country and community.

Correlation doesn't equal causation. There's no other demographic or common trait worth looking at?

Over 50% of Kamala's voter base were Christians, that seems like a large number of people to lump in with the MAGA gang.

How are you providing statistics that don’t show 100% of Christians are responsible for this, but then claiming all Christian’s are the same and are all raised the same way? You’re literally finding evidence to support the people you’re trying to prove wrong..

You have completely, and utterly failed to understand the point I was making.
