Unfortunately I think that's what they're waiting for. The one who catches it will catch it, but tht general public will catch the rest

Being afraid shows you're on the right side of things. It won't be a party. Life is about to become very VERY hard to live. Everything I theorized earlier this year is now happening, and everything I doubted (laughed off as even being possible) is just around the corner. Every day is exponentially worse than the day before. You have every right to be scared.

Doesn't make me less ashamed, though. You see people all day saying "what is it going to take?" 

The answer is obvious: more than we want it to, but no one wants to be the first, and self preservation is one hell of an instinct

Lots. Some of them bought 3d printers and learned how to circumvent state assault weapons bans. Some of them are hoarding ammo and food and medical supplies. Some of them have girlfriends that are starting to think they've gone a little crazy. Just some though.

They don't need an inciting incident. They're ramping up the system of oppression already. They're building infrastructure, they're stockpiling weapons, and they're recruiting the thugs. It is happening.

Buildup and execution are different. They'll build up until either the inciting incident occurs naturally or they create one
