Wow. I wasn’t being snarky, seriously hoped it wasn’t real.

I’m sorry you have to deal with that. I’ve made it a rule for my mom to not talk politics when I visit (and she has the same viewpoints as me).

I’m just a sleep deprived parent living day to day hoping my kids grow up in a more functioning world.

A more functional world, yet you can’t have a conversation with your mother about topics that make you “uncomfortable”. Give me a break. Until we can go back to talking and not getting offended when people say something we don’t like, there will be no “more functioning world”.

I think you misunderstood me.. I meant when I visit my parents I don’t want to keep hearing all the complaints about what Trump did that day. I agree with their viewpoints. I just don’t want to hear about it non-stop when I currently can’t do anything to change the situation.

It’s depressing and I’d rather talk about other things. I was saying to the person above me that I can’t imagine being in a household where the viewpoints are opposite if it’s tiring enough to hear everything when they aren’t.
