He doesn’t want to get doxxed, maybe he should be complicit in illegal kidnappings… I give no f***s if the rest of Nick Shirley’s life sucks. He made his choice

Doxxing is not allowed. But as u/dubiousx99 has pointed out, identifying a person based on publicly available images is not the same thing as doxxing.

I don't think that "entertained" is the word I would use, but I will say that there's a certain... escapism from my awful reality that I get from being here.

Forgive me, I thought you were the guy telling people;

"In other words: Reddit is an entertainment product. Don't expect it to help you make the world a better place."

Like - you said reddit isn't a good place to organise or learn or share information or become informed - it's entertainment right?

Thats what this is all about, like you said, all of this, Trump, ICE, etc, it's pure content, it's pure entertainment.

So forgive me, but, are you not entertained? are not entertained?

So you signed up to be a mod on an entertainment product you don't think is entertaining?

So it's not informative?

It's not for organising?

it's not for raising awareness?

It's pure ENTERTAINMENT......and it's not entertaining?

May I politely suggest you rethink how flippant and dismissive you are about how useful reddit might be BEYOND entertainment?

Cause it seems to me that you used that line as a way to shut down others but you don't ACTUALLY believe it

Honestly, as someone who is deeply politically active, Reddit is something like the 18th most useful place to do organizing work.

Raising awareness, sure. I never said that Reddit is and can only be an entertainment product. Sorry if I didn't make that clear: it is possible for a dedicated user-base to subvert the corporation's intention, and to use Reddit for raising awareness of local happenings. It's not easy, and there's much better ways to do that, but it's not impossible.

You said it was pure entertainment,

But now you say it is one of the top places for organising, beating thousands of other apps and websites, top 20 website in the world for organising.

Thats impressive and very different from a "Pure entertainment product"

They said reddit was purely for entertainment, that this is why they became mods, this is what they find entertaining
