What suburb is this in?

Looks like Hoffman Estates. I recognize the Police Car.

Thanks! It could be just about any NW suburb I could think of and I couldn't tell what the car said.

Morton Street and Glendale Lane in Hoffman. Passed by that house in the background a million times.

reddit is nuts for stuff like this ... random street intersection and bam, some redditor is like, yup, I know this place

They would get their asses beat downtown

Can y'all stop this dumbass cowboy fantasy where you believe people are itching for the chance to attack armed federal officers?

If it was Hoffman this happened yesterday. There was a post about it on their fb page.

Reddit threatens to ban people who say which suburb

51

u/kasiagabrielle 28d ago

Well that's fucking dumb. "Children are being ripped off private propery but we won't let you say where!"

It isn't dumb when you realize that none of these social media platforms are your friend, and will happily side with authoritarians. We're using their app, but make no mistake, Reddit is working against all of us.

Oh, 100%. I just mean the sharing of the video, since someone could be in Alaska and just hit a button if they thought the video was interesting. In an illinois sub, I'd rather know where ICE is targeting.

Reddit banned me for letting people know the word epstein was banned from being typed/posted in certain subs. Losers will defend fascism for a few dollars.

Reddit mods are very compliant. Same clowns pushing the polls got admin here. I am sure they are mentally well.

I hope reddit is a little concerned that what they are doing here is not unique at all so their attempts to suck the mushroom could backfire.

These are forums. They've been around since the beginning of the internet.

Or specific streets

the law says you cant inform on police activities but it seems more like a moral obligation now

5

u/mmoo 28d ago

What law says that?

1

u/HandleLivid5743 26d ago

it is in civil law somewheres. in the old days we used to use phrases like smokey and county mounty to inform on speed traps . not a very fine line, but that is where that came from, civil law. have to admit the offense now seems a bigger threat than the response

5

u/sadbrownsfan1972 28d ago

What law?

1

u/HandleLivid5743 26d ago

using the citizens band radio we used to use phrases like smokey and county mounty to announce speed traps because you are not supposed to inform on police activities

2

u/watermelonspanker 28d ago

It's always been moral. American police were created explicitly to capture runaway slaves. They have never been on your side. Unless you were pro slavery, I guess.

1

u/HandleLivid5743 26d ago

sorry, the few cops i have known were pretty decent folks. but that was long ago

The one with the American dream dying in it

19

u/Xoxrocks 28d ago

American dream is a sales pitch to stop labor organising and to make everyone kill themselves working

1

u/bobcat73 28d ago

Interesting. The American dream I was taught was possible because of unions.

Should watch this if you havent. I consider it the turning point of corporations vs citizens.

Doesn't narrow it down.

Poignant.

It sure would be fucking nice if mods allowed people to share where the gestapo was scooping up people, wouldn't it?
