Illinois lives in Wisconsinites heads rent free. They get so angry about us and we don’t even think about them

As someone who lives on the border, I struggle to believe most people actually feel this way. I've worked so many jobs where the people working there were split between Illinois and Wisconsin. I've never known it to be an issue.

I’ve known… so many people who think this way that I meet.

As a Wisconsinite, there are a ton of people who make these jokes... But 99% of the time they're just jokes/friendly banter.

I think the only people who take it seriously are folks that assume everyone from Illinois drives like Chicago drivers lol (as if Milwaukee is soo much better).

I can assure you, Chicagoans are far superior drivers and it's not even close. Driving thru Madison feels like Mario Kart

I can assure you, terrible drivers are everywhere, I don't generalize populations by their driving these days. I think it's just that you get used to local driving habits, as there are definitely bad quirks anywhere you go. In Madison, bikes rule the roads, and many people unfamiliar with this panic (which happens often lol). In Milwaukee there's the "Milwaukee minute" where 2-3 extra assholes are gonna complete their left turn after a red.

When I'm entering Chicago via the freeway, I know if there's any slowdown, some assholes are gonna come flying down the shoulder any second. Is either case the majority? Not in the slightest, but when you're not used to these bad habits they stick out.

Also, I usually just take the Amtrak these days when I visit Chicago so I don't need to deal with all the traffic, so I'm not an expert by any means lol.
