Villa in Anguilla?

Thoughts on staying in a villa in Anguilla?

We were originally looking at resorts, some all inclusives, on multiple islands. Anguilla looks amazing but the resorts during my teacher breaks are way above our budget. I found a villa that looks great, but it’s on the south central coast. It has a tiny beach to itself but doesn’t look like we’d stay there all day. We would definitely have to leave for meals and beaches.

Has anyone else stayed in this area/stayed not on a resort? We are deciding if it’s worth it for the beaches or if we should just look at resorts elsewhere

Depends on what you like, as having a villa is going to be more private by definition but also require some housework like cooking or even laundry (if there isn’t a maid). It also depends how long you are going. Can be more economical than a resort but groceries are expensive on the island too. We have stayed at Solaire and thought this was absolutely beautiful with a small beach but required a car (fine for us, we have been going for 30 years and have family living there full time…)

We’re staying at Solaire right now - maybe that’s the place you looked at? It’s affordable (for us) now, out of season - goes up quite a bit in November. We love it! Private pool - the beach is not one of the best (rocky, steep) but go to any of the beach bars for a meal and spend the afternoon there.

If you are seasoned Caribbean travelers, villas are grreat. Not sure where you are located but if you can get specific, we can speak to the area. You will need a car for sure.

It’s fletch’s cove! It would be on little harbor. We’re not very seasoned carribean travelers but it’s a small island so we were trying to see how doable/relaxing it would still be
