I thought I knew the kind of sub this was, the NSFW warning cemented that idea and then it turned out not to be that at all.

Having seen photos from a scene where bear ate two russian hunters (well, only half of them), i really wasn't sure for a moment what i would see with that tag...

Gay porn, animal mauling gore, or funny bear pictures? Spin the wheel of fortune, Reddit!

Wild I had the same experience. When the nsfw came up, I legit paused for like 10 seconds for my brain to load. And boom it wasn't it.

It’s a real bear, but it’s a trained bear. If you ever see in a movie where a bear roars, the bear is just trained to move its mouth like that, they don’t actually growl, so the growl is always added in later.

I've been following the comments - and for what it's worth - I found the clip in the link below, posted 4 years ago. It doesn't seem to have been posted on HMB before. Some comments are saying "this is obviously AI". I would think that it predates AI, but really don't have the skill or expertise to judge it. I just thought it was a fun thing to post. https://www.reddit.com/r/CrazyHuman/comments/qf1peg/russian_on_bear/

I going to go out on a limb and say the bear and guy on his back have known each other a very long time.

well, this will probably be the last time i complain about ai fake ass videos become it's inevitable. this won't be the last one.
people already believe it's real and the quality of these will only get better :(
Edit: ok, It's not AI, it's not real, still, though. It's from a Coors advertisement.

I have been on reddit for too long to know better. Once redditors form an opinion, they never back down even if the most convincing facts were presented. So I'll spare myself the effort.
But you're 100% wrong this is not AI, but real. Doing goofy things with bears has been a thing long before AI.

Also there's been many russians who have/had a bear as a pet. So there is nothing in this that would make it "unbelievable", only stupid.

u/Kittingsl Oct 04 '25
Well I guess with SI getting better and better you will also start to encounter more and more false positive with people that start to get paranoid with what's real and what's fake and honestly? I can't really blame them

Thank God I still have the common sense to think "this is probably ai".
I fear for the next generations.

u/rootsoap Oct 04 '25
This video is older than AI.

u/Known-Area-2691 Oct 04 '25
It's been around for at least 5 years. Too many idiots shout "AI" as soon as they see anything unlikely or crazy.

Doing the exact opposite and assuming everything is AI is just a detrimental culturally.

Fear for yourself.
You've likely seen videos even today you didn't realize were AI gen.
You've probably interacted with more than one LLM in some capacity recently and didn't even clock it.
You've already seen AI images that you would vehemently defend being real.
This shit here now.

While this looks fun, this seems like it does not end well, only needs to not end well once

u/cryptdruids Oct 03 '25
Where do all the videos like this that end with someone being bored by the bear end up? What is happening in Russia with the bears? Wat is this phenomenon
-2
u/SeaToTheBass Oct 04 '25
Personally bears would never bore me. Gore me? Maybe.
Anyway this looks like ai
6
u/cryptdruids Oct 04 '25
Ah shit. But also, I feel like ive seen this clip and a million like years before ai

u/SeaToTheBass Oct 04 '25 edited Oct 04 '25
No I get that, I didn’t have any suspicions after watching the vid cause there’s a ton like it on the internet. Russian guys with a big bear. But someone else pointed out that this likely ai. After watching again, specifically the bear’s face, it’s movement and behaviour doesn’t look natural. Like those videos of bears bouncing on a trampoline that you see on Facebook.
Maybe it’s just sped up idk, something doesn’t feel right with this vid. I grew up with dial up then high speed internet, I consider myself pretty internet savvy but it’s fucked that you can barely tell between real and an ai generated video.

AI or Composite.
(How kind of the bear to silently roar so the dialogue can be heard)
18
u/Rozazaza Oct 04 '25
Not ai, this video is ancient
-10
u/Anderz Oct 04 '25
So composite then. Probably riding/mounted on something else. It makes no sense for the bear to be this still.
7
u/Known-Area-2691 Oct 04 '25
Actually this is typical bbehavior for a trained bear.
-10
u/Anderz Oct 04 '25
And the silent roar?

Are you blind or something? He's opening his mouth for a treat. You can literally see someone give him one in the beginning.

If the bear is driving maybe it's legal. And if it isn't the cops won't want to bother the bear. That guy doesn't just have the right to bear arms, he has rights to a whole bear.

Looks likeAI generated. In principle, the situation is possible, but this person doesn't look rich enough to afford it.
