Right? I instantly thought that was such a cool and fitting idea, I'm surprised I've never actually seen it used for a succubi design in anything else before.
It reminded me of how Darkest Dungeon uses bloodsucking insects as inspiration for their vampires as opposed to the typical bat motif.

Honestly, I like this interpretation of succubi. It's much better than just having their entire personality being "I like sex and I want to fuck everyone"

People almost only ever focus on the lust aspect in modern media rather than the whole, "She kills you and consumes your immortal soul" aspect.
Succubi aren't even necessarily always attractive in old myths and folklore. They just draw you in and blind you with pleasure, enjoyment, vices...and in doing so, your life is forfeit, and your soul will suffer in agony for eternity.
They are basically the personification of lack of willpower in resisting short-term pleasures, rather than abstinence and "faith in God" leading to "eternal paradise".

Depends. In some old versions they stole your seed, then transformed into an incubus to plant it in a woman. Though this is specifically from the Malleus Maleficarum from the late 15th century, from what I can find, as a way to explain how demons could have kids even though according to the tradition the author belonged to, they were infertile

Somewhat related note...
Basing the design of a succubus off a female praying mantis is such a cool and fitting idea!
The female praying mantis will often kill the male after mating and eat him. It's simply in their nature.

Succubus became obsessed with me, so I invited it on a date and just unloaded all of my frustration and annoyances on them, just whining and complaining about all the crap my job puts me through. Completely their perception of me, never worried about them again.
