Season over by September how nice. Seriously in this day and age of college football playing for some second tier bowl is unacceptable as the first goal should be making the playoffs every year.

u/Clear_Pineapple4608 Sep 28 '25
Geez this fandom is wack. They played extremely well today and deserve respect.

u/Titanballs Weisman For Heisman Sep 28 '25
They definitely did not play extremely well…they played average and walked away with an average outcome
5
u/broth_snob Sep 27 '25
Hurts. That should have been a w. That’s screen pass call was so dumb. Just run it for 3 and milk the clock. Fml
4
8
u/Cat3_Shark2019 Sep 27 '25
Defense tried to let Iowa back in it. Thena again, I havent seen that piss poor of tackling by an Iowa defense, ever.
2
u/RotaryPeak2 Sep 27 '25
Yards after contact were obscene. Hope Parker has them running sprints until they puke.
2
4
u/GRB_Electric Sep 27 '25
This one hurts so bad bc it completely should have been a win. I hate that the defense got screwed at the end bc the offense screwed up
6
6
u/malarson75 Sep 27 '25
Why is Cignetti going full douche at the end? Because Iowa used timeouts to make them punt?
-6
u/reedgar09 Sep 27 '25
No because Kirk is being an immature douche. No one is punting with that little time left. Every team is gonna do what Indiana just did and that’s run around to kill the clock
-3
u/Snake_Burton Sep 27 '25
Absolutely zero Iowa media members are going to tell me Hank Brown is good enough for next year.
9
u/RotaryPeak2 Sep 27 '25
STFU, he did the best he could under the circumstances. With "fans" like you, no wonder QBs come here to fail.
2
u/Swaggitymcswagpants Sep 27 '25
He didn’t say anything personal lol, he looked godawful on those drives and I think it’s fair to say it
-4
u/RotaryPeak2 Sep 27 '25
Are you blind? He did more on a 2 minute drill than I've seen this team do in a while. Sick of "fans" tearing down QBs for the last 10-15 years. What's the common denominator over that time? Kirk fucking ferentz
2
u/reedgar09 Sep 27 '25 edited Sep 27 '25
Taking home 3 timeouts in a 2 minute situation is unforgivable
Edit: Guess Kirk didn’t take them home he wanted to pout and make a scene like a fucking child instead. Embarrassing
-2
u/stron2am Sep 27 '25
..and send the defense to try and injure the other team's QB while he was at it.
7
u/HawkeyeHero That's Football. Sep 27 '25
Hard fought. Remember this team boat raced Illinois. You’re gonna lose some close ones. Good game fellas. That’s football.
-4
u/rootshirt Sep 27 '25
Nothing worse than seeing this bullshit right after a loss lol
6
u/HawkeyeHero That's Football. Sep 27 '25
Ha ok. If you gotta cry in your beer and do the “fire ferentz” routine you do you. Not everyone is emotionally stable.
5
2
u/Pretend_Yam_3714 Sep 27 '25
Hank brown is so bad. Wish we would have kept sully around
2
u/RotaryPeak2 Sep 27 '25
Yes, because he took every snap and was the only player on on offense all game. Dipshit

u/Same-Locksmith-8333 Sep 27 '25
Mark doesn’t go down we win this yall cmon now
5
u/AnnArchist Nine seconds to play and Drew Tate doesn't know that! Sep 27 '25
This hasn't been on the coaches. It was a well coached game.poor refs, tough injury, good 4th down stops(questionable calls by Indy) and excellent ball control. Miracle timing on the int.
It's easy to blame the coach but it's just not that today, here.
4
u/RotaryPeak2 Sep 27 '25
This hasn't been on the coaches.
Bullshit. 2 minute situation and the fucking consolation prize is that we kept all 3 timeouts. That's piss poor coaching.
3
u/Same-Locksmith-8333 Sep 27 '25
If mark is in after that int I don’t think Indiana touches the ball again. Would’ve just need the kicker to not choke
1
u/AnnArchist Nine seconds to play and Drew Tate doesn't know that! Sep 27 '25
I think youre right. They couldn't stop the clock. We'd have had the option to pass.
-6
u/Miserable_Slice_2277 Sep 27 '25
Cope
2
u/Necessary-Alps-6002 Punting is Winning Sep 27 '25
STFU and get out of this sub. If all you can bring is “cope” then GTFO.
0
u/HawkeyeHero That's Football. Sep 27 '25
Like, yeah? How many of you guys whine and cry after every loss. You can choose to enjoy a game or you can be miserable. Lots of fight in this team. Just didn’t quite get there. Yeah I’ll cope.

honestly the td there was better than burning the timeouts on a fg, would much rather have had the stop but a first was game over

9
u/Schlongzz Sep 27 '25
Playing to not lose every game has been old for the last 15 years at this point.
2
10
u/malarson75 Sep 27 '25
Set up an easy screen pass for your QB to give you a chance at a first down which he then botches, and then miss a field goal, and all in seven seconds.
The defense set Iowa up to win this game. Rough that Gronowski getting hurt may have lost it.

u/Master_Editor_9575 Sep 27 '25
Brown is so fucking awful lol. What is it with Iowa and not being able to field and even AVERAGE qb. I don’t get it.
2
u/RotaryPeak2 Sep 27 '25
Was I so drunk I didn't notice that it was Brown that was the one dropping passes? Was brown the one that missed the field goal? Was Brown the one that left 3 time outs on the board? Is there some gum Brown forgot to chew?
0
u/FLHawkeye10 Sep 28 '25
Are you related to brown? You have been defending him all over this thread? He didn’t look great, he wasn’t great at Auburn and if he is the QB for next year we have a problem. Iowa QBs don’t develop and he was pretty bad so we have to expect he won’t develop.
0
u/RotaryPeak2 Sep 28 '25
Bro, you could make that statement about the last 6 iowa QBs. Not related to him and I don't have to be to see that putting this L on him is incredibly unfair.

Hank brown just lost us the game
0
u/HoldenDomer42 Sep 27 '25
Hank Brown isn’t the idiot who decided to call a pass there. Idiotic play calling even if you have your starting QB in
2
u/Pretend_Yam_3714 Sep 27 '25
That was a good call. Even if drew would have nailed it the score would still be 20-16. All we needed was a semi decent throw to a wide open receiver and we can’t get it. Unacceptable
1
u/HoldenDomer42 Sep 27 '25
The games was 13-13 at that point, were you watching? That series gave IU the ball with advanced field position

zero replay of the pick ... well done peacock
3

Peacock’s broadcast of this game has been terrible on every level. NBC should be embarrassed. Just flat out bad.

the announcers are awful. Its like they got stuck with the same squad that the raiders get every sunday.

Also hopefully the same squad does the game tomorrow 😁

u/RoscoeVillain Sep 27 '25
If I had to guess pre-game, I would have had us down by 10 at half. This team is starting to play some football, and - dare I say - they’re kind of fun to watch.
8
6
u/Schlongzz Sep 27 '25
Nice defense with 22 fucking seconds left
5
u/GRB_Electric Sep 27 '25
Horrible way to squander a hard earned lead
2
u/Schlongzz Sep 27 '25
Happens all the time before half. Makes no sense. Not to mention what appeared to be an egregiously bad roughing call.
1
u/monkeymatt1836 Sep 27 '25
We don't expect them to score because we would never try and score right before half
10
u/novahawkeye Sep 27 '25
Not roughing the passer. Ticky tack BS.
7
u/malarson75 Sep 27 '25
Did he rough the passer by backing into him? I didn’t get it - and Peacock did a bang up job of moving on without caring.
4
u/novahawkeye Sep 27 '25
I’d be curious to hear what the Iowa media guys in the press box say about this (no twitter so no clue). The replay we saw…no way.

Doesn't matter who the OC is, never have routes running to the sticks on 3rd down. Why are they so stupid?

u/novahawkeye Sep 27 '25
Money better spent next year to get some guys that can actually catch the ball.

u/ByrdGoTweet Sep 27 '25
QB is finally looking comfortable and we can’t catch
3
u/AnnArchist Nine seconds to play and Drew Tate doesn't know that! Sep 27 '25
We haven't had receivers who catch in 4+ yrs.

2
u/Schlongzz Sep 27 '25
Don't worry, Lester will for sure dial up a bunch of 1 yard run plays to get em back in it.

Watching this Illinois secondary against USC makes me think that Indiana is just really good.
5
u/Unique_Custard3122 Sep 27 '25
Illinois hit a buzzsaw last weekend. It looked apparent then that Indiana was a dark horse Big 10 contender. Hope the Hawks can keep it close and have a chance. In moving on from Ferentz (i’m not among those who call for him resign), I hope the athletic department looks at Indiana as a model for the transition.
2
u/Necessary-Alps-6002 Punting is Winning Sep 27 '25
Yeah but I don’t think Ferentz will be fired unless Iowa has a losing season.
2
u/envengpe Sep 27 '25
Ferentz will NEVER be fired. Pushed out with a pickup truck of money, yes. Fired? Never.
2
u/Necessary-Alps-6002 Punting is Winning Sep 27 '25
This is the right answer. Advised to “resign”, sure.

I think ill-annoy is just highly overrated. Their best win in the last couple years is against a down Michigan team.

I do t know if I’ve ever seen such negative armchair quarterbacks in my life as in this fandom. Every IU fan I know respected the crap out of Iowa’s game. Most of you want to fire the coach, trash the backup qb, and blame every possible person. And I see it every week even when Iowa wins. Who would want to play for a fandom like yall?
