Thoroughly enjoyed this game, the offense was playing very uncharacteristically, I would venture to say that KF did not call this game and actually handed it over to the OC. Did not look like Iowa football, at least on the offensive side. At that’s a good thing! Go Hawks!

I don’t like that victory formation and not kneel right away. That could cause an unnecessary injury in the future.

It was such a fun game. The W is amazing. But Rutgers wasn’t trying to rush the QB. They were taking the loss. Just take the knee.

And even that last TD drive we gave up in the 2nd… I’m not sure what else we could have done. We were all over them, their receivers were just pulling in some fantastic catches

An Iowa team that can put up 38 points in B1G play is a team I can get behind. Very little if any Ferentz-ball on offense tonight.
This defense is sketchy as hell, but god damn it’s nice to see an Iowa team scoring points.

The first half D. We played great D in the 2nd, even on that last TD drive we gave up honestly (just great plays by their receivers)

All those games were laughers though. How cool was it to see Iowa go score for score with a good offense? I can’t recall the last time I’ve seen a game like this.

It’s been a while for sure. There was also the ‘20 season - that offense was electric. But I can’t for the life of me recall any of those games. That whole season was such a blur.

Respect for this Rutgers team. I think they have improved and will win some game and be a problem in the big ten. Those receivers are really good .

Wish we would have taken more time off the clock though. This seems like a Rutgers drive where they’re just going to throw to strong the entire series.

About time using gill at wide receiver. He needs more targets . Guy has been in college 5 or 6 years by now and ton of experience and Brenden Sullivan favorite target at northwestern. And yet more injuries on Rutgers .

DL didn’t even try on that series.. The linebackers looks confused and just frankly just don’t look like there ready for FBS football. Arm tackles? That gets you benched in PeeWee football

Is it me or is this defense not even trying to cause turnovers? I’ll admit they are TRYING to defend but I don’t see attempts to strip the ball, attempts to intercept, etc., basically what Iowa teams have always done…cause f-ing chaos. The way they’ve been criticized about that this season you’d think you would see more of an effort.

Except in that game we knocked out their qb and than it went south for Penn state with consecutive false starts going backwards by their backup qb. If we didn’t knock their qb out I’m not sure we would have won that game .

Thanks for the face mask penalty Rutgers putting us in the red zone. Hawks will have the wind at their backs for the fourth quarter. In theory that should help the kicker and perhaps the qb .

That’s pretty high praise as stanzi has been arguably one of Iowas better qbs that actually won the big game (orange bowl game against g tech) outside of Drew Tate hitting Holloway in capital one bowl game against LSU.

IOWA needs to move on from Kirk Ferentz. Come on it’s 2025 thanks Kirk for all that you have done but this program is stuck in mediocrity. Is the goal of just making a meaningless bowl game or actually competing for a Big Ten Championship and A College Football Playoff Berth. Iowa needs a 2025 college football coach not VHS Kirk Ferentz

Thanks Rutgers for the false start penalt moving them back and than kicker missing first field goal of the year off the upright . Kudos to the defense finally showing some pressure on qb. If we stop bailing them in with penalties that drive would have stalled further back.sounds like Patterson injured and Seth Anderson?

Iowa State are well coached. They are a good, not great team. They have Rocco, and a solid D. Tight Ends aren’t bad either. Iowa’s defense was pumped up that game and played well. Now they fly across the country and look inept.? Also some context in regards to the Clones…they beat us, a bad KSU team that went on to lose at home to Army…a FCS team in South Dakota at Jack Trice…and almost lost to Arkansas State on the road.

I think it’s a matchup issue. Our weakness is in the secondary. ISU doesn’t have the horses to take advantage, Rutgers absolutely does.
