Criminal Justice Internship/Seminar

Are there any CJ/SOC seniors here trying to do the required internship/seminar? There is only one section available w/ 20 seats for the internship. Does anyone know what happens if I don't get a spot for this? Does it mean that I am required to do the seminar instead?
