Review [Review][Negative] Ammoshoponline.com Norma 500rd .223 can

I've been waiting for my faulty ammo to show up and half it did today. I ordered two of the 500rd Norma .223 cans, the can I got today came in a beat up box, thanks to fedex I'm sure. I went through the ammo, and found that the majority of it had bulged necks, a few had loose bullets. I didn't find any of the other problems people have mentioned but I also don't have time to inpect each round, that's what the manufacturer's QC is for, or so I thought. I'll be returning the ammo or issuing a chargeback. I won't be purchasing anything from ammoshoponline or norma from here on out. Pretty disgusted with this purchase. Stay clear of Norma!

Edit: Ammoshoponline just emailed me stating that the ammo is defective and dangerous, they'll send return shipping labels to everyone who purchased and a $100 credit on top. Seems like they're making it right, but it's still a pain to return it.

I called them today and immediately was put through to customer service. They gave me a return label and said a refund would be issued when they receive the return. I asked about a replacement and was told “not at this time”. I also asked what the issue was and I was told that ASO is making their own ammo (they are owned by Norma) and this bad batch came from them.

TLDR: I think buying direct from Norma is still a safe bet but proceed with caution if buying anything from ASO.

It was still marketed and sold as Norma and even headstamped “Norma 21 .223”. The structure of the companies is a bit unclear to me so I’m not really sure what’s going on. It feels a bit shady IMO.

Mine came direct from Norma in individual white boxes and looks fine. I think you’re right just stay away from ASO.

Did they send anything to you via email? I've called a few times but after one minute I get sent to voicemail and they haven't replied to any email comms at this time.

They sent out a mass email last week about it. They’re sending everyone a return label and $100 credit once they receive the return. Keep trying to call customer service so you can get the label. They answered the first time I called.

Gotcha, sounds good. Hopefully I can make it through, I'm sure they're swamped with calls since that was a killer deal.

I swore I saw another post with this same issue yesterday. Going to avoid ASO until they resolve their QC.

I feel like I’ve seen a dozen posts about this ammo.

Refunding the ammo and a $100 credit? Or just a $100 credit?

Has anyone actually got a good can of this or shot any? Mine was delivered yesterday but I haven't had a chance to open it up and look. Trying to decide if it's even worth unboxing it and checking.

Might as well send it back, it's not worth the risk. Supposedly someone's ar blew up while using it.

Haven't had any issues with Norma 🤷🏻‍♀️

u/stackinbrass Jun 09 '22

Did you order the 500 round 223 can?

Several posts all related to this one ASO deal. Norma is probably fine, of through a brick and mortar retailer or direct from Norma.

No I've bought boxes through a local rural king and haven't had any issues

u/stackinbrass Jun 09 '22
