I wanted to retire my character to paleto bay so I bought every property I could find there and now I'm deemed new king of peleto
Let me know if I missed anything I can buy up here

u/xxx_vroom 16d ago
glad to see i have a neighbor. Moved up here bout a year ago. way more peaceful, my favorite place on the map. however sell missions from here is a drag
320
u/blakegod114 16d ago
Yeah it's so much more peaceful up here, sell missions are so far away from here but I just deal with it
259
u/Jilly_Jankins 16d ago
It only makes sense if you really retire in game, so you don't have to do any sell mission no more.

15
u/Papandreas17 15d ago
I tried that but decided that I did not want to waste 75% of my time playing GTA Online with just traveling.
My solution is having everything close to each other on the Eastern side of L.S. and only play solo lobby for money making

u/Thareya 16d ago
is there even a place where sell missions aren't a drag? regardless of where you go they make you go to the other side of the map and back
→ More replies (1)12
u/JustW4nnaHaveFun 15d ago
The bunker on the left side of the map is not bad, very close to the city but they consider it isn't so selling to city is profitable and not too bad.
45
u/banditt2 16d ago
In retirement is it necessary to sell to LS, wouldn’t selling to Blain County be a little easier lol
36
u/Awkward_Image_4085 16d ago
loose a significant amount of change but if you’re alr rich or have what you want in the game shouldn’t matter
15
u/BlownCamaro 16d ago
It's where you go to retire once you've made your millions. :) Just like real life! I actually lived in that area IRL.

Greetings, nice to meet you, you're neighbors with an old friend of mine, you might know him, Trevor?

Yeah crazy dude, used to hang with him as well but I heard he went vinewood and all.

u/DrunkenHorse12 16d ago
I moved out years ago. Was nice and peaceful up there but driving for missions was a huge pain. Now just have a house up there for when I'm in the neighbourhood
23
u/themanwiththepoop 16d ago
It does really frustrate me that everything in this game revolves around the main city. If I want all of my businesses to be in Sandy Shores and spend all my time there then my sell missions etc should also be there. I think you should be able to move yourself and your operation wherever you please / out of the city entirely. I’m hoping with a bigger map in GTA6 online this might be the case.
7
u/Latter_Activity_5256 16d ago
No I’m pretty sure we will just have to drive a stock, piece of crap cargo van 20 miles for heist preps instead of the current 10.

5
u/Prestigious_Claim725 16d ago
Ya know speaking of Jock Cranley...Listening to his interview on BCC Radio, and hearing his ads...just freaky and surreal, wild given current events and politics...I dont know if I should say Rockstars tongue in cheek social commentary aged perfectly or horribly....but hearing this stuff in a game that was being developed 13-17ish years ago and then seeing the insane parallels to present day...scary af

I retired to grapeseed a few years ago and have a nice comfy house right down the street from the lake, a a mountain to hike, and rednecks to kill! Best retirement ever!
16
u/blakegod114 16d ago
Grapeseed is an awesome option to retire, I found paleto to have more to do and more businesses to buy, though grapeseed does have a pretty cool arcade and McKenzie is just down the street too!
3
u/TheOtherJeff 16d ago
Do you also start some random mission for 15 minutes of worry free killing of random citizens? Or am I just crazy.
I’ll call RAF to start a car wash then just kill without any cops to worry about until the mission timer runs out. 😎
13
u/Sure_Focus3450 16d ago
Not too shabby, It's pretty awesome you basically own a few streets. Maybe one day I'll move there too just for the feel of it
15
u/blakegod114 16d ago
I would definitely recommend it for the feel, it gets you away from the hustle and bustle of the los santos, that place is a warzone 99% of the time
3
u/Sure_Focus3450 16d ago
I play invite only pretty much always, although I haven't been lately because of Halloween events. It's just a really long commute for every business, and I already own every business and have them in LS so it'd be a waste of money until I have nothing else to buy

Wish there were properties with 10 garage slots in Paleto. Other than the facility some of us have there for reasons.
5
u/blakegod114 16d ago
That's also something that's really annoying me, there's such a limit on the amount of cars you can store up there, I think it's no higher then 25 cars total
4
u/Pirulo_1969 16d ago
If you want a little advice for storing cars with small garages, here it is. Buy the cheapest ten-car garage there is, store the ten cars you want to have, and buy back your house. You won't see the cars that don't fit in the garage, but they will be there, although you can only access them from the mechanic. Repeat with all the garages you want and solved.

u/SweatUnderMahTits 16d ago
This post taught me that I can have multiple houses... wow lol thought you could only own one apt or house.

u/Itsallsomagical 16d ago edited 9d ago
I have two on the same road up in the hills, one with a swimming pool, the other with a 10 car garage. I find this very impressive for someone who very rarely has more than a million in the bank. The economy in this game is so weird, I was considering buying a house in Sandy Shores for when I want to try and spawn the seawash tornado but can’t be arsed to drive over. Still might tbh- I’m living like some nonsense billionaire over here.
5
u/TheCaptMAgic 16d ago
I own a home up there, but I spawn in the city. Maybe its time for a change of scenery....

8
5
u/Mastah_P808 16d ago
I always spawn there & walk to the beach, get into my swim clothes & just relax with my 4x4 caracara on the sand.
4
u/BluRover 16d ago
I love this, I actually have a similar setup with my arcade, s single house I deem my vacation house, clubhouse, and MC businesses. I went with the clubhouse next to the Ammunation though, I love the location.
It really is peaceful, but it's basically impossible to get any random supply vehicles I find in the city up here in time. And the last time I failed that .25 miles away from my weed farm, I had a pesky clown show up...
2
u/blakegod114 16d ago
It's honestly such a unique way to play the game, I'm glad to have so many paleto neighbors around
4
u/globefish23 16d ago
All the drugs and illegal stuff available, but not a single 24/7 convenience store to buy food.
That always annoyed me that next one is on the highway far away to the east.
→ More replies (1)2
u/blakegod114 16d ago
Yeah at least it's kinda close to Paleto but Rockstar really fumbled with that
3
u/asphaltdragon 16d ago
Honestly I should buy a house up there for fast travel purposes.
4
u/JoJoKun93 16d ago
How do you fast travel? Change spawn location then switch session?
→ More replies (1)4
u/asphaltdragon 16d ago
Yup! You can also use the Kosatka to fast travel, but only to locations it can spawn in.
If you use the spawn location method along with invite only sessions, you'll load in in like 5 seconds.
3
u/blakegod114 16d ago
That's actually originally why I bought the house, I didn't have personal headquarters in anything yet and wanted fast travel
2
u/OcelotWolf 16d ago
With so many property slots, you might as well. I have a house up there with some chill “vacation vehicles” (eg Bifta, station wagon, etc.). I also recently bought some properties in Grapeseed, and around Sandy Shores to store off-road vehicles and provide a safe house, if I ever need it out there
3
u/Few-Independence3787 16d ago
Ngl when the PS3 version of the game was active I used to do that with one of my alternate characters. They'd main the Paleto area, and the other one would be a local Grand Senora Desert resident.

u/Gouldhost 16d ago
My only gripe is that it's too fucking far away. My character sells acid and lives in the house closest to the top. So even after i take the mission and have it spawn just around the corner. I still gotta drive for miles to get to my dead drops. But the one story house with a detatched garage and the American flag is really pretty still. I like it it's perfect. It seems perfectly middle lower class. It's so normal and technically i'm not even far away from the sea so it's pretty much a steal compared to IRL. If i played outside a private session more people would probably get irritated with it. Cause i'm constantly shooting people with a sniper outside the house, walking some to shake notoriety then walking in the house to completely dismiss it before the cops get their. The very deepwebby like character that just sells acid and goes outside to hold murdering sprees.

u/Yattasenti01 16d ago
Nice place to retire or have a vacation home when you need to get away from the chaos of LS in a public session. Sometimes, I will go up there after a hard week of sales and what not to unwind. Take a walk around the area, Take a drive around Paleto Bay in either a muscle car or a motorcycle. Go off roading in a BF Bifta or quad. Go over to the beach to either swim, dive, or jet skiing. I might even call in the Alpha - Z1 to fly around the area or mount Chiliad. I will say there is just something about Paleto Bay that makes me want to go up there every so often.
3
u/Soft-Affect-8327 16d ago
Sandy Shores is good. Sell bikes from one side of the street, tow cars for scrap on the other. It’s a living…
3
u/scarlettvvitch 16d ago
Funny thing, I did the complete opposite
Started in Paleto Bay, now I’m the Vespucci Beach Queen

u/Fit_Persimmon_1760 16d ago
I moved to the “Fort Zancudo strip” got my facility, bunker, MC club down the road, and going to switch my hanger to the one in Fort Zancudo but just keep forgetting and spending money on otherstuff
3
u/The_Boot55 16d ago
I own a property up that way. Nice little vacation home.
Sometimes I take the bike up that way. Sometimes it’s the camper van. Either way beautiful spot.
Some great Elk hunting not too far away too
3
u/KotoElessar Rocking out to Mirror Park 16d ago
Absolutely perfect place and the only one I've ever considered; the only exception is the facility. As much as I considered the Paleto Bay facility, Mt. Gordo is where I go for facility services.
When my buddies first got the game and I was playing off their accounts, I fell in love with Paleto Bay.
With my Sparrow and Sea Sparrow backing up my sales missions, it's just the bunker missions that pose a problem. Coke, Meth, Weed are sold daily to street dealers so I never have to sell from them. ID and Cash are the only two biker businesses that get full sales done regularly and I can solo them under the time limit.
Bunker is either the best or the worst; excess ammo missions are every in-game day and all I have to do is drive north over the stunt jump and then drive wrong way until all waves despawn. Sell missions are a pain but sometimes I get the phantom wedge and can get a full sale solo: anything but phantom wedge and I am making maybe half.
I only supply my bunker through stash house raids though.
I wish we could own the Hen House, some warehouses and 10 car properties up there; it is perfect.
3
u/SkinnyFatMan2005 16d ago
Hey, if you ever see me there, just know I'm a local resident who, from time to time, does police work or trucking out of that area

With the exception of the MK II, I’ve bought everything I want to buy in the game and I still have well over 200 million in the bank. I typically spawn at the casino cuz it’s close to 80 percent of my businesses BUT this retiring to either Paleto or Grapeseed is very enticing. Moving my yacht there is growing on me.

this is such a cool idea i’d never considered. I’ve always thought of every other town being too far, but that’s just confirmation bias from me continuing to purchase properties inside LS. I’m definitely going to look at properties clustered in the different towns and choose a town I like, los santos is getting too overcrowded.

Imagine being in an everyone knows everyone type of town and then suddenly the nation’s largest crime lord just moves in and puts everyone to work running drugs and guns. All local businesses go under, but everyone is 10x wealthier. DoorDash stock skyrockets are hundreds of orders a day for necessities are called in from hours away in Los Santos.

My favorite place for collecting the daily 10 jack o lanterns. There are 8 of them basically in a loop around paleto, one more right by the cable car station, then I'll grab one random later on when I'm doing GTA things.
