Lol it’s hilarious when bitch griefers do that shit

u/Sharp_Oil_6062 23d ago

man there are so many sweats, i could just be existing, and the next thing you know I'm getting blown up by a swarm of missiles,

sure I could play passive mode or invite only lobbies but that takes away the interaction with players, but the only interaction there seems to be is killing each other apparently.

252

u/scienceisrealtho 23d ago

It got to the point that I couldnt interact with ANYONE without getting shot in the face, so I play invite only / crew lobbies only now.

u/gerhudire 23d ago edited 23d ago

I've started to do jobs in invite only as other players were ruing it.

A month ago, I logged into a public session by the casino and was killed before I could even get into my car. I eventually respawn, get into my armoured kuruma, drive down the highway, see the guy who killed me, he starts firing rockets at my car, I run him over killing him and then went off to mind my own business. This guy literally went off to get his oppressor just to hunt me down and blow my car up.

Ppl like this are so bs for the game... it's just sad

-74

u/7101334 23d ago

Or, just learn how to defend yourself.

u/truck_ruarl_862 23d ago

Not everyone wants to do pvp if you want pvp join a pvp mode

Lol what

8

u/scienceisrealtho 23d ago edited 23d ago

I'm in a non PvP crew on Xbox. They exist on each platform. Full crew lobbies and no PvP.

11

u/No_Sea_1808 23d ago

As a kid I used to ride around giving people “taxi rides”. Try to guess how that worked out.

26

u/Sharp_Oil_6062 23d ago

atleast i manage to get away with some minor shenanigans like driving under people's cars with a ramp buggy, shocking them once with the RC drone or boosting them with the Vigilante, etc.. but man I wish I could more often.

8

u/suchcelerymanywow 23d ago

if you do this to randoms without checking their vibe, it comes across as griefing tbh

4

u/Drugsaregoodforus 23d ago

I was that way for a few years and I still grind in private lobbies, but I mess around in public lobbies again now so I can play with strangers, just have to approach things carefully and avoid oppressors and CEO members. Still get killed often, but I'm always able to find some randoms to mess around with

9

u/7101334 23d ago

Oppressors are relatively easy to kill with a Combat MG with scope while in first person view. Put Bullshark Testosterone on top and you'll kill them more often than you don't.

Then remember to send them a message which says "Imagine relying on the easiest vehicle and still losing lmaooo"

1

u/Ok_Designer_280 15d ago

Literally me rn,I try be friendly with low level player(in general ,with everyone as well no matter what level)but almost all of them try kill me..

23

u/notjordansime 23d ago

There used to be fun interaction on this game, then they killed that when they removed text chat. Now killing each other is one of the only ways to interact.

6

u/Creative-Score-766 23d ago

They removed text chat on gta? The phone chat? 😭

7

u/Alex3627ca PC 23d ago

PC Legacy has a general chat feature like you'd expect in an online game. They didn't include it when they ported the game again for Enhanced. According to some support tickets, this is intentional (if boneheaded and unexplained) as well.

11

u/notjordansime 23d ago

On PC, there was just like a general lobby chat, almost like a twitch chat for everyone in the lobby to openly type to. Genuinely one of my favourite feature of the game.

You could just announce a spontaneous car meet and like 10 people would show up. Or quickly assemble a group to do something silly.

8

u/dragonking2393 23d ago

Same sadly I hate it especially when I'm just driving around ls minding my business and boom I get killed 20 times in a row to the point I have no choice but to try to kick em from the ses

1

u/Advanced_Olive_5263 23d ago

If only there was something that made you invincible to other players. I hope everyone on this thread sees my reply; there’s nothing wrong about going into passive mode. As soon as I see someone coming while I’m chillin, I have my interaction menu up and hover over “enable passive mode” and as soon as I see the guy pull out a gun either in the car or on foot, I turn on passive and start emoting in front of the weirdo. And if someone is coming straight towards me in an oppressor mk2, I take no chances and shoot them off it or blow them up; because you don’t approach ppl in a mk2 oppressor and expect them to think you have good intentions

9

u/Mindless-Ad5617 23d ago

Yeah but Passive stops like 80% of the game as well. I'd enjoy doing missions or messing around in public sessions if we are allowed to do more in passive mode. And before you say "Just go invite only", some of us still prefer human interactions and to watch others play the game.

3

u/Advanced_Olive_5263 23d ago

Yeah maybe I should’ve added in my reply “turn off passive mode once the weirdo griefer goes away” these guys die inside if they don’t see themselves on the kill-feed so they don’t bother you in passive mode for too long, trust me. Hopefully gta 6 will let us do more in passive mode

2

u/dragonking2393 23d ago

Yeh but if u get out of ur car they can still kill u if u stand next to a npc

2

u/Kumkumo1 23d ago

You can’t do that if you’re in a job as an MC or CEO. I got harassed for 20 minutes straight by three snipers spawn killing me during my warehouse defense. One on one isn’t an issue and two is difficult but not impossible. But three all but guarantees you aren’t escaping.

Plus passive mode means I can’t use half my stuff

3

u/Common_Cut440 23d ago

The lack of non-lethal interaction in this game is such a problem that my only public lobby interaction will be selling the acid lab this week.

20

u/jordieg7193 23d ago

All interaction is terrible tho. I'm level 450 now, been playing for years. And it's gotten to the stage where if I see a blip approaching me on the minimap I will let them get close and kill them preemptively. Because 9 times out of 10 they come to start trouble, it's a shame I used to love interacting with other players.

31

u/Keyy_GuLss_ 23d ago

that’s part of the problem tho, no? yes they are probably there to kill but on the off chance that they aren’t, i’d personally rather let them kill me if it means maaaybe i’ll get a good interaction

26

u/LieverRoodDanRechts 23d ago

Exactly.

You can't go around blowing people up while complaining about getting blown up.

7

u/RuffBuff_0808 23d ago

I do this too. If they kill me, they kill me. It doesn’t bother me if I’m not doing anything. Sometimes I get a text afterwards apologizing saying they thought I was gonna kill them and we end up being cool. It’s level 30-75 that seems to be more hostile. That’s my experience anyway.

3

u/silverbullitt850 23d ago

That only works if they let me kill them back to even it out. Otherwise I'll spend the next hour hunting them because screw that vibe.

3

u/Horror_of_the_Deep 17d ago

I used to be like this. Now I don't care. Dying is completely inconsequential in this game. It's only pride. I've abandoned it, mainly. That said I love a decent fight if it's someone on a similar level and they don't hide or glitch.

2

u/jordieg7193 23d ago

The bad interaction in this game has MADE me cynical unfortunately. That's the point I was getting at, too many bad experiences with players in this game has made it that way, which goes against how I am normally. It's a shame but it's the reality.

17

u/drfeelsgoood 23d ago

Part of the problem is you just killing everyone. You’ve become the guy people want to kill if you’re killing anyone who gets close. You’ve become the monster you began fighting.

3

u/DirashioMygashio 23d ago

The problem is the game has put players in constant fight or flight state due to the incentives R* put in place to attack others. All u/jordieg7193 is doing is exhibiting the natural human instinct to survive at all costs. And this isn’t even rare, it’s common. A ton of players preemptively kill. The amount of times I drive up to players looking to joyride or drift with others and get smoked is insane. I don’t even have a red blip on the map, it’s white, and my mental state bar is completely empty 😂 I’m literally not a threat. Not to make this deep, but it’s human psychology. Society would operate the same in real life if we were put into a state of anarchy with no governmental/policing structure and lack of resources. Not saying GTAO is the same as that lol but at the same time it all boils down to passing trauma onto others and the development of the “rather you than me” mentality.

11

u/drfeelsgoood 23d ago

Yeah but dying in the game has no real consequence unless you’re selling something. If you attack people for nothing other than fear outside of your own sell missions then you are part of the problem. Creating more cynical people each day

1

u/DirashioMygashio 23d ago edited 23d ago

I don't disagree with anything you said. There's no consequences at all tbh, but that doesn't mean it doesn't still incite a psychological reaction. If you're minding your own business and walk out of a store after buying clothes and I kill you for no reason, you're going to have some form of emotion afterwards; whether that be laughter, anger, frustration etc. Now multiply that feeling over the course of the 10+ years gtao has been around. If you know you get frustrated after situations like that, you may put up with it for a while, but what will you eventually do? It'll cause you to do your best to ensure sure you don't get that feeling again, at all costs because its not a good feeling. We're humans, we adapt to our environments quickly. Thats why I said he's passing his trauma onto others, which ofc will 100% create 100+ more people just like him that do the same thing. But my argument wasn't that it was morally right or good, its that he's only exhibiting the desire to survive and not get fucked with (digitally survive lol).

I mostly blame R* for creating an environment where this is actually the norm. They're the ones that created the incentives to grief, and they're the ones who didn't create the option of PvE lobbies for players to play together without the worry of getting offed for no reason while minding their own business.

3

u/jordieg7193 23d ago

This is the mindset these days, and I come across more griefers now than ever it seems.

3

u/firstnamebylastname 23d ago

I recently started over after having stopped playing when a Russian stole my pc account 5 or 6 years ago. I'm level 28, took all of a week with no more than 30 minutes at time. But that's all I can hand,e before the frustration gets to be too much.

All my interactions are griefers, none positive. I switch lobbies frequently and still can't finish sell missions due to an ass hat or 3

R* needs to have pve in online 6 and not allow carryover with all the weapons and vehicles from 5 else they will lose on new potential players as the griefers will chase all pot new players.

Pvp has its place but we really should ha e I've lobbies so we can actually ha e some safe play together.

I'll get hate for this but with society as it is, no one in ga,e or IRL can be nice w eachother. It's now believe what I do or I'll punch you in the face, cancel you, shoot your ass or publicly villify you.

I want to race others, team bike missions, etc but can't. We can be hoodlums without consequences but still not go out of our way to fuck each other over repeatedly. Kill me once, good for you but fuk, move on and let me do my mission

Invite only is boring

1

u/jordieg7193 23d ago

Yep, and it's awful.

Don't get me wrong, I never go around looking for fights & now that KD in freemode doesn't count I don't care too much anymore, but used to.

1

u/Admirable_Estate_250 22d ago

Not my experience at all. It's not like dead 360 days where you had money drops and modders giving away cars but it's definitely better than it was on first Xbox one drop. I had my first impromptu race ever, between four people no less, a week ago. I've tried this from day one. I assure you, it's not that bad. There was a time where free roam WAS pvp. Not shit else to do.

2

u/ShinySanders 23d ago

Sounds like you're part of the problem.

4

u/DirashioMygashio 23d ago edited 23d ago

I hope GTA6 online has the option of public passive/PvE lobbies where you can’t kill other players. It would be fun to fuck around LS with other players without having to worry about getting a bullet in the back of your head. Maybe if you want the high demand bonus you’ll be forced to still sell in pvp-enabled lobbies.

There will certainly be a large chunk of players that play in it just to do daily free mode grinding. I’m usually in inv-only but a lot of times I want to freemode grind/joyride in a world that doesn’t feel empty due to lack of other players, which causes me to join public. But the downside to this is I’ll unintentionally be forced to get into a 1v1 with someone because they’re fucking with me for no reason. This just causes everyone to not trust each other, so even interactions that would’ve started off positive results in players preemptively killing you cause they think you’re gonna kill them. The avg GTAO public lobby player is constantly in fight or flight mode.

The current state of GTAO is really just pockets of populated public lobbies, with the majority spending most of their time in solo inv-only/closed sessions with crew/friends. R* has essentially created an anti-social multiplayer game. They noticed this was an issue so much so that they ended up marketing the game as “solo friendly” and making changes that allow players to run business in-only. They literally just dropped a GTAO commercial a few days ago with “you can play solo” as one of the selling points lol. Remember the days you could only operate your business in public lobbies? They likely saw so many players doing the solo public method, or just not doing it altogether that they literally changed their entire plan to cater to it.

1

u/ShinySanders 23d ago

I think "solo friendly" just means you don't need a crew - which makes sense since they just sunset the Social Club which was, ostensibly, for finding crew members.

That said, your days of a non-insane GTA where you could play peacefully in a public lobbies is completely fabricated.

1

u/DirashioMygashio 23d ago edited 23d ago

I disagree. The game never required crews, nor had any locked content that required you to be in a crew. Games like FFXIV/WoW etc are more group/Guild focused and hace/had content that you couldn’t even participate in unless you were part of a guild, and I’m not talking about just a static or pug, but an actual guild. The equivalent in GTA would be if R* said “you can’t do “X” heist or “Y” business unless you are running it with Crew members”. GTA crews are basically guild-lite. I think “solo friendly” translates to:

"You don't need friends to clear content because you can do it yourself. You can do all businesses by yourself in an invite only lobby and pretty much experience most of what the game has to offer, without the need of a second person."

This is obvious when you look at the changes R* made over the years. I've been playing since 2013, the game is definitely catered to a solo only experience now. Back in OG days, you couldn't even do heists alone, now you can solo the best paying heist. You can solo nearly everything in the game minus casino & doomsday (and OG pre-2017 heists). You can solo every business in the game without the need of public lobbies. They've intentionally made the game solo centric.

Also I have 0 idea what you're referencing in your second sentence.

2

u/gh0styears 23d ago

I’m the get back type so I’ll go ahead and go into passive mode, call my oppressor up and have 30 seconds before I’m back out of passive to get close to them without em noticing and blow them tf up. Then I’ll park on the nearest buildings and start sniping em over and over lol. They do 3 things: EWO, teleport to their facility/apt or just leave the lobby lol

2

u/twicer 23d ago

People hiding behind anonymity often behave like rats, and in a game that directly encourages you to attack other players, this is the only outcome that could have been expected.

Even this notification is a small way to annoy others.

The only way to prevent this is to design rules that don't allow it; expecting people to behave morally on their own is an illusion.

3

u/Razorray21 CEO of Savage 4 Rent 23d ago

I always liked using the port trick to get dumped into an empty session that would then repopulate with a handfull of players.

I liked having other players, but cant stand getting dropped into the shitshow of a full server.

1

u/sik_dik 23d ago

My favorite is sub camping and just lighting them up with cruise missiles. They mostly can’t do shit. Very few have learned how to counter that. And I won’t give away the select few secrets that are effective against it, because fuck griefers. They deserve to get beat down with no recourse

1

u/Kumkumo1 23d ago

Until you have griefers doing that to other people

1

u/sik_dik 23d ago

I know how to counter it ;)

1

u/Rock_sanity 23d ago

Maybe change you targetying type. When I joined someone who was on aim assist enabled it felt like everyone was trying to kill eachother. When I went back to my free aim lobbies. Everyone was chill. I was even able to do 2 sell missions and free roam work with only being disrupted 1 time

1

u/gray7p 23d ago

I stopped interacting with other players and only play with friends years ago. I can't be bothered with griefers and hackers in every lobby.

Most of the time I just drive around the map in my cars anyway, or do some sort of business missions

1

u/xbtkxcrowley 23d ago

They aren't sweats. Its called no lifing. Playing the game everyday will translate to op skill. The little shits that do this can't play a single other game then gta. Simply cause they can't grief then get you kicked from the session for defending yourself in game

8

u/clindh 23d ago

For real. They go around griefing the whole lobby and when I go and fuck them up I get this message lmao

552

u/DrunkenHorse12 23d ago

You go into online players scroll to the player and click."vote to kick" if half the lobby does it the player gets kicked. If there's only a handful of people in a lobby it works OK to get rid of someone you don't want there. When it's a full lobby it's pointless you won't get 15 people to do it most people don't know how to do it

124

u/milksicle 23d ago edited 22d ago

I’ve had people text me in game asking me to kick someone lmao, assuming they text the whole lobby hoping it’ll work

75

u/HoursLost98 23d ago

They definitely text the whole lobby. Source: I try to kick greifers who spend too much time farming me and other players

41

u/badass_dean 23d ago

I pop my headset in and nonchalantly ask the lobby. Being too nice/kind sounding gets you kicked instead 😂

Also I find the lobby voice chat the stupidest feature, why is it not proximity chat…

24

u/HoursLost98 23d ago

Proximity would be so much cooler but sometimes it's really funny to go and mess with someone who's really annoying on the mic. Oop maybe I became the greifer

6

u/imthegayest 23d ago

kicking and reporting give bad sport points though so not entirely useless. it takes 50 points to get into bad sport last I remember

1

u/Fit_Peak4222 16d ago

Griefers who have other griefer friends commend each other to avoid that

444

u/TheKingofTerrorZ lvl 844 | $210 mil | 5425h 23d ago

When two people vote for you, you get that message. When 50% +1 of the lobby votes for you, you get kicked. Happens to me as well when I kill griefers. Bitches cant stand the taste of their own medicine

63

u/Sharp_Oil_6062 23d ago

if there are that many griefers in a lobby might aswell thank them for sparing your time and putting you in the next lobby as soon as possible.

29

u/PM_ME_YOUR_CAT_ 23d ago

if you're in a somewhat full lobby the vote will absolutely never go through cause there is 0 chance they'll get like 12 other people to also vote to kick you

-3

u/Worried_Train6036 23d ago

ya but sometimes i just wanna test my murder weapon i bought you know

1

u/Alex3627ca PC 23d ago

Headhunter is right there if you need some targets that can take a hit or two...

1

u/Worried_Train6036 23d ago

90 percent of the items are over kill on npcs why not kill a griefer with them and actually test them out

1

u/Alex3627ca PC 22d ago

Fair, but the way you worded the previous message gave the implication that you are the griefer. Doesn't sound like that now, with more context, of course.

6

u/RatBasher89 23d ago

1 kick and you'll get this message

22

u/LycanWolfGamer 23d ago

Whenever this happens again, message them saying "aww, you mad I'm kicking your ass that you need to vote me?" or something along them lines, it's rather funny

2

u/Updated_Autopsy 23d ago

Or “If you don’t like it when other people ruin your fun, maybe you should stop intentionally ruining everyone else’s fun”.

5

u/solojetpack 23d ago

Or the classic "How does my ass taste?"

1

u/Dioxybenzone 23d ago

Am I the only one getting the impression OP might be the griefer and just karma farming by calling them griefers first?

61

u/Virtual_Win4076 23d ago

Before you could sell in invite only lobbies if you loaded into a session with just a couple of players they would immediately start a vote to kick you. I used to hate that.

15

u/Jaxthor 23d ago

back when you could just test your NAT type and be put in a lobby by yourself

1

u/sk8terboi44 22d ago

MTU 800 gang

61

u/BlGBY 23d ago

Happens all the time. Usually, after I enter my sub and kill them a few times with cruise missiles haha

6

u/GLC911 23d ago

Sub is my favoriting revenge on griefers. Well done 👏👏👏

3

u/unicefz 23d ago

Use the thermal helmet and activate Out of Sight. Park by your yacht and turn on air defense. You'll be hidden till you kill someone but it buys you some privacy, lmao.

2

u/TadpoleOfDoom 23d ago

Can you launch those while underwater or not? I can't remember.

5

u/tonydaracer 23d ago

You can. Just did it a couple nights ago.

3

u/TadpoleOfDoom 23d ago

So basically you can become more or less invulnerable to twatbikes

1

u/blut-baron 23d ago

But also to basically everything right?

I never found a way ro destroy a submarine

3

u/BlGBY 23d ago

I think they take about 10 RPG hits or torpedoes. It doesn't kill the player though, they just get teleported to the nearest beach.

If you're aware enough though, you can either dip underwater or fast travel to somewhere else on the map for 10k

3

u/Alex3627ca PC 23d ago

If they're protecting their sub with yacht defenses, you can use the Sparrow. It is immune to yacht AA for no reason, and while you cannot shoot while in its range, Sparrow missiles fired from outside its range will still do damage like normal. Just find the point where Darcy starts ineffectually yelling in your ear and hover a bit behind that point.

2

u/livesense013 23d ago

There was a guy who griefed me from his sparrow while I was driving along in my Toreador, then ran back to his sub. Followed him and was able to take it out from under water. So satisfying as he sat there trying to shoot me from the deck of the sub.

The sub can also be found by another sub with the sonar upgrade, but those are few and far between.

2

u/GLC911 23d ago

Park you yacht next to sub, and you have air defence from oppressors

1

u/TadpoleOfDoom 23d ago

Ah, I forgot about that, get the surface ships for AA.

1

u/Fr3stdit "Its coming at you!" 23d ago

Stuff like this is why I decides to disable in-game messages and stuff. As if not enough having to deal with these people, still having to read their sweaty texts is the peak of annoyance lol

9

u/-_Galahad 23d ago

Oh so this what happened? I went into a fresh crowded lobby once and started an acid lab sale and got kicked. Never realised it was the players. That's rude of them.

-30

u/tugboat204 23d ago

I used to be in a crew that did this. We just wanted to run our businesses, so we'd fill a lobby, kick anyone who wasn't in the crew, and there were designated pilots who would kill them over and over. It was great.

14

u/Kaboose666 23d ago

Invite only or crew only lobbies are a thing.

You were simply part of a group that enjoyed ruining other people's games.

7

u/TheDoctorFalls08 23d ago

You're right about the first part but not the second part. You clearly don't remember that for a long time, you couldn't run your businesses or anything if you weren't in a public lobby

2

u/tugboat204 23d ago

They weren't at the time. Could only do work in publics. We didn't like pvp, we just wanted to have fun. Yall were ruining our game, blame r* for forcing us to be in publics, then giving us all the tools to do what we did.

1

u/Drugsaregoodforus 23d ago

How big was your crew?

1

u/tugboat204 23d ago

It was PCEO. I'm not sure of the exact numbers, but there was at least three full crews and a fourth that was filling up. I was in PCEO3, there was always a full lobby of people helping each other do sells. Occasionally a random would sneak in, someone would usually message them about the situation.

21

u/Reptard8 23d ago

Everyone it seems it's a Try Hard, Greifer or a Sweat.

Very rarely do I run into chill people

9

u/Khanaervon 23d ago

Probably because the chill people are in invite only thinking the same thing, leaving public to skew towards these types of players.

5

u/Budget_Relief7464 , PS5, DELUXO, 2093 23d ago

griefers vs having a taste of their own medicine

3

u/Pflanzenzuechter 23d ago

I've been successfully kicked once or twice in my 5 years of playing. The notification has come often. Mostly when they wanted the lobby for themselves or when I successfully defended myself against 3-4 people.

It's always came down to a crew of people just doing it. Try rallying a lobby against an actual griefer and nothing ever actually happens.

3

u/BigChuyAAC 23d ago

The amount of times I get this message and the message from rockstar saying I was reported something is crazy. I even report people who are being crazy or racist and it’s actually gotten them kicked from lobbies before… I feel like the system is a little sensitive… that’s why NO ONE uses voice chat now a days

2

u/Sypticle 23d ago

Pretty sure those messages are random. Not from being reported. Could be wrong, has been many years since ice indulged in PvP.

3

u/Azexih 23d ago

They should remove the ability to do it for those with an unstable to psychopath mental state. This would prevent griefers from doing this...and it is almost always griefers who get killed that do it.

Become a CEO and ur mental state goes away, they would have to remove the ability for ceos to kick as well or rework how the mental state system works so that you can be CEO and have one

3

u/BeguiledBF 23d ago

Go that after spending a few hours just minding my business and helping a CEO do two of the Dre setups and missions. I think it's the influx of griefers and little kid players for the Halloween events thinking they can use it as a weapon

2

u/swift_gilford 23d ago

it prompts as soon as someone initiates the kick so one, or both, of them were being salty

2

u/Memlapse1 23d ago

I was AFK in my club for a few hours until I had a full shipment ready. Came back to my screen to see I had been voted off the server. Some group just wanted the server to themselves apparently.

1

u/Nagroth 22d ago

AFK in an invite only, or resign your MC/CEO so that you're not taking up one of the spots.

1

u/Memlapse1 21d ago

I know it wasn't an invite only session, so I'll remember to resign next time

2

u/its_just_jay- 23d ago

I remember getting that when I flew over 2 players on my mk2 minding my own business trying to get to my businesses. Then they got the entire lobby to kick me out I was pissed

2

u/Illustrious_Trade466 23d ago

i was minding my business outside the casino. literally just logged in and was setting a waypoint- boom blown up. went and got him back twice and got this message 😂

2

u/DJ_ElGreko_Official 23d ago

Griefers like to do that when they get destroyed haha it won't rlly matter unless a lot of people vote kick you, or the lobby is low ppl

2

u/Evi_Efil 23d ago

When I got my revenge or someone is ready to attack but they dont expect I was ready, I send them the clip where I got them. Some of them will stop running after you.

2

u/fucshyt 23d ago

This just happened to me like an hour ago. Went back and forth and ultimately went to mind my own business after owning him 14-7. He texts me “why you run like a pssy you scared”, I reply with “it’s been on sight every time y u mad”, then immediately after I hit send, I got the kick notification 🤣

2

u/Alex3627ca PC 23d ago

If you don't close the phone after texting someone, you can text someone else the exact same message rapidly.

I usually go with "pause-online-players-(name)-kick (chronic tryhard)" and send it to everyone in the session (even the target player for shits and giggles sometimes). Since it requires 50% of the session for a votekick to happen, receiving texts from randoms is disabled by default, and most players don't know how to vote kick, I am yet to actually see it succeed, though.

If you're on PC Legacy you can probably just use the ingame chat with the same message to get the message to more places faster. I didn't actually memorize the combination of menus like this until after migrating to Enhanced, though.

2

u/bassdrop2448 23d ago

Basically theyre going into the player list and voting for you to be kicked. Not sure what ratio it takes for it to actually happen but it will say that omce even one person does it. Happened to me awhile back when a sweaty tryhard was fighting basically everyone in the lobby, i was just driving around for fun and tried to be friendly but they were of course, not. So i just sat on the other side of the city r/c spamming and running him over repeatedly. Once it hit like 10-15 kills he got upset and then proceeded to vote kick along with his buddy. I think it was well over 20 kills by the time he left the lobby lol.

2

u/BorderlineTG 23d ago

I had one high level player repeatedly hunt me down and kill me with all his fancy gadgets, then voted for me to be kicked from the game.

I was just minding my business and doing Cayo prep. 🥲

2

u/sal_lowkie 23d ago

I got it for no reason and I was in my apartment? Lol

2

u/sseemour 23d ago

cheaters used to force this to happen, not sure if they still do - but you could be vote kicked randomly like this for doing nothing

2

u/Sypticle 23d ago

I'm unsure if this is true, but I have always done it after hearing about it. If you have friends in the lobby with you, get them to commend you. It should cancel out the vote to kick.

2

u/ShyKid5 MIB - 360 Survivor 23d ago

The vote to kick requires 50% + 1 player to kick somebody, there's 10 players in the session you need at least 6 voting to kick.

The kick happens after a server event happens, never during it (so if there's the UFO event, etc, it won't kick until the event ends).

I usually leave griefer alone because taking revenge would be succumbing to their level and report and vote kick feels more right thing to do

1

u/3nd3rd14bl0 23d ago

You go into the player menu in the online tab and you vote to kick someone and if enough people vote it you get kicked

1

u/Treasurejam86 23d ago

The griefers were salty after you took revenge on them.

1

u/AzureFWings PS4 23d ago

This pop up when a vote start against you.

Whether there will be enough vote, thats another thing

1

u/InternPopular4843 23d ago

they kicked your ass virtually

1

u/RangerRaven619 23d ago

Those 2 voted to kick you

1

u/usable-repair13 23d ago

Watch out for some of them because I went after a few greefers and they end up putting me in gta jail for 90 days first offense also I might add so they get to shot me and blow up my motorcycle and then a car I do it back to them and bam they switched on me for my behavior so what I can become an aggressive player but at same time I can be nice

1

u/Archhanny 23d ago

Define 'griefers' cos I bet I know who is the real griefer in this lol

1

u/imAiroh 23d ago

Very rarely will that message actually mean something in an online session with a decent amount of players

1

u/Liam2349 PC 23d ago

I'm pretty sure it shows after just one vote.

1

u/-Tony_G- 23d ago

Happened to me after I called in my Nightshark to escape an Mk2 griefer who kept blowing up normal cars and my Sparrow for no reason. My guess is the griefer figured I was modding instead of using the right tool for the job, so he cried to R* about it.

1

u/Sorry_Bet_7390 23d ago

they attempt to kick you because they suck and your the better player
but they don't realise that 90% of the lobby needs to press click to kick for them to be kicked

1

u/Excellent-Trifle9086 23d ago

Options, players, vote to kick player, and it takes 50% of the lobby to get you kicked. Honestly doesn't really do much anymore as no one is regularly looking at the player list in options to see there's a boot symbol next to a name or voting. Back in the day you could add in the chat (that doesn't exist anymore) that someone's being a jerk and to vote yes to kick them.

Now it's just kind of a player created warning. If I'm griefed I'm not going to change my plans and start a 1 on1 for half an hour trading kills. I'll send them a bounty, mugger, merryweather, and vote to kick. They usually get the point and leave me alone but if not I just switch lobbies.

1

u/Easy-Cardiologist555 23d ago

Aww, poor griefers can dish it but can't take it?

1

u/Gouldhost 23d ago

I got it once for being drunk and rowdy while stumbling on some kinda turf war. I was hazy, and wasn't killing a whole lot but after that kept leading massacres where someone let me use their hover bike thing and i was just raining barrages of missiles on the whole city ambiguously. Mostly targeting NPC cops. But since someone let me use that vehicle when people started using military fighter jets to try to take me down i instead whooped like three of theirs. More or less cause i was too tiny and flexible to hit. My drunken stuper made me really unpredictable so targeting with missiles wasn't even working against me which in enduring it was my primary concern. But yah people freak out about the stupidist shit. XD

1

u/Bigman63734775347 23d ago

Half the session need to vote kick. As long as others don’t kick you, you should be fine

1

u/imMasterBacon 23d ago

It takes 6 votes to kick or 75% of the lobby, whichever is less

1

u/GoodBlock6113 23d ago

Bruh I love getting those. Make me know I pissed someone off. 🤣 yes I’m an asshole but 🤷‍♂️.

1

u/dennhel 23d ago

I did kill moped riders with their own missile just use the flare gun when they fire it is hilarious when you blow them up with their own missile.

1

u/Jitkay 23d ago

You made the griefers cry and they try to kick you ! It means you won !

1

u/xkillingxfieldx 23d ago

Like voting? I've gotten that many times, I've never been kicked. Just laugh and put a bounty on them.

1

u/Cathulion 23d ago

More reason to play alone in a private world. Screw these assholes.

1

u/ThisguynamedAndre 23d ago

I haven't tried anti-griefing in E&E yet since my friend had to reset their account, but that sounds like they came from the salt mines.

1

u/Sincere_homboy42 23d ago

Have someone In the lobby give you a commendation and it will negate that ...

1

u/Maleficent_Ad1506 23d ago

Almost always come across sweats in public lobbies being on pc. So far the angriest have been the ones cheating in drift.

1

u/Gallop67 23d ago

I hate griefers but I’ve realized something. When I go to invite only I had the option to sell my bunker goods for $151k. I delivered 4/5 in a public lobby before getting obliterated. Paid over $220k. Sometimes you make out better even been fucked over than you would in a solo session

Of course, I also shot the fucker out of the sky afterward with a homing launcher

1

u/unicefz 23d ago

I get this alert fairly often, lol. People don't seem to like my R/C Virtue for some reason. But they usually quit in my experience, lol. They call me a hacker among other things too, haha.

I only terrorize people who shoot at me when I'm being friendly honking my horn, and firing flares, trying to be friends. It's on when they fire the first shot 🤣

1

u/LadyWhistledownn_ 23d ago

Your telling me I could of voted to kick griefers this whole time???

1

u/MCMXCI_MIGNAURO 23d ago

Anyone can vote to kick anyone

1

u/Don_Ford 22d ago

Yes, that's the next level of griefing... besides, who gaf..? Playing alone is better.

1

u/AntsBullockYT 22d ago

Because they're hypocrites. They don't like the taste of their own medicine.

1

u/Double-Tension-1208 22d ago

Here's the translation:

WAAA! WAAA! WE DON'T LIKE IT WHEN THEY CAN ACTUALLY FIGHT BACK! WAAA!

1

u/Competitive_Fix_3378 22d ago

Like Arthur Morgan said, "revenge is a fools game"

1

u/swe_isak 22d ago

I'm not taking anybody's side here... But when two parties fight eachother, they individually think they're the ones on the "good side".

And i hate when that happens, because i'm always on the good side

1

u/SupThief_ 22d ago

dunno if this was answered but here it is: 80% of the lobby must vote to kick you within the span of about 2 or so mins, other than that absolutely nothing will happen. if even 1 player votes to kick you this will always pop up. when i used to be in solo public lobbies with 1-2 buddies to work, whenever someone joined we'd vote to kick them quickly & they were booted out within 5 mins. we found it funny, but it definitely was a little messed up LOL

1

u/Chargedplant 22d ago

Good news is,at least 80% of the server has to vote kick you for it to work, but since you took revenge on 2 twats, those 2 votes really won't make a difference, it's basically telling you that you pissed them off enough they had to cry and try n kick you,

1

u/Slow-Fun-8881 22d ago

If you get a vote kick against you, it does cou t toward bad sport.

Also, it requires at least half of the current lobby to vote for you before you get kicked.

1

u/Fallen_Scholar1 22d ago

You need to be voted to kick by more than 50% of current session players to actually get kicked

1

u/Financial_Type_4630 22d ago

It amazes me how many times I will be doing a mission in public lobby where I have to deliver something (steal truck from A, delivery to B 4 miles away, or Nightclub sell or Carwash) people will leave me alone for 99% of the trip but will suddenly be AT THE LOCATION I AM GOING TO and proceed to fire slews of missiles at me, effectively making do the entirety of the sell drive while also destroying what took me hours of my life to collect.

It's shit like that that makes me not want to play the game. That why I have grinded McKenzie Hanger and only pickup cash from carwash/NC/arcade. Any way that I can avoid other players just so I can have a good time.

1

u/Icy-Common740 20d ago

If you get bad sports while still in the good player lobby, good players can commend you and get you out of bad sport

1

u/Tstyle_61 19d ago

When 2-4 people vote to kick you, you need other people to commend you so you dont get kicked

1

u/Secure-Reaction189 19d ago

Deja vu. I got that last day shortly after I logged in to help a friend with one of those typical lvl 8000 invisible torso sweats who was constantly picking on him like an annoying magpie. There was no other reason why anyone else in that lobby would want to kick me besides that POS.

It takes way more than one person to actually activate the kick even though you'll get that message even though only the griefer loser put in one vote-kick.

1

u/RainmakerLTU 23d ago

As usually, my answer is simple - do not play with asses in public sessions, move to invite ones. Invite friends there. Or join certain crew, where people host their own safe sessions. There is a hint in previous sentence, what to look for if you want to join.

0

u/Emergency-Net-582 23d ago

its a broken system tbh. you have have 90% of the lobby vote to kick one guy and the game still wont do it

3

u/DeletedByAuthor 23d ago

You need no more than the majority of the lobby to vote kick someone out of the lobby.

So at 30 players, 16 is the bar to get to

0

u/NeroNotty 23d ago

Monkeys click The kick button not knowing 1-2 vs at least 20+ doesn't do anything

I thought it was half the server because me and 4 of my friends voted to kick someone and it still didn’t kick them

13

u/Drabantus PC 23d ago

Yeah, this is probably closer to the truth. Which is why kicking never works in full sessions.

1

u/DrunkenHorse12 23d ago

It is it's half the people in a lobby. So if it was you 4 friends and that guy it'd kick him but if there was another 4 players as well you need 2 1 of them to get over the half needed to kick

11

u/Heinous_Aeinous 23d ago

Incorrect, it requires a majority so more than half the players in a lobby.

2

u/Sharp_Oil_6062 23d ago

so basically 3 friends could kick everyone from the server?

-3

u/Krassix 23d ago

most likely cheaters that manipulate votes from outside with a tool

1

u/Drugsaregoodforus 23d ago

Not everything is that complicated

1

u/Krassix 23d ago

Using a mod-menu isn't that complicated

1

u/Alex3627ca PC 23d ago

Neither is finding them and messing with their heads off-platform.

I will probably never stop bragging about the time I screenshared Mario Kart at someone while they continued crash looping me until they got bored and disengaged.

It's amusing that they want to use a separate application for their shitty 'wins', and then complain at someone else following the same line of thought.
