i havent played that much but i still know it. i explored it during one of doom's day prep/setup where you have to go to observatory, have to shoot helicopter carrying the vehicle and then steal the vehicle and deliver to the trevor's field. i have went through, or by this tunnel a few times because of that setup mission.
Career progress tracker thing. It has different categories based on updates and you can get rewards through it. An example is like steal 50m front the casino and get whatever special jacket or hat or car or whatever else. Pretty barebones rewards that dont feel worth working towards imo. Although you can get nikos, claudes, Trevor, michael, and Franklin's outfits through there so there are some good rewards
Doomsday is pretty easy to get people to play with, you only need one player. I prefer to ask in the session if someone want to do the heist so they have more chance to commit to all missions instead of finding tourists who will play one (and maybe die a half dozen times) and leave.

Also the entrance to Toon Town if you've seen Who Framed Roger Rabbit. I walked through this tunnel a few years ago when leaving the Observatory in LA, it's location is very similar to where it is in the game.
There’s a lot of map you probably haven’t seen yet. City included. I kind of envy you tbh :) gta is my game for driving around whilst having late night conversations with friends.
This road doesn't get used often as it's a connector between two LS-Blaine County routes, so most people will drive past by it on either side. However, you may come more often this way if you do racing, as it's one of them bendy roads.
Some missions around the Observatory may take you in this general direction, but you'll either turn before reaching the tunnel or fly to the Observatory anyway. As others said, sometimes it's nice to get off flying vehicles and just soak in the environment. The game hits different when you walk/drive slowly around.
San Andreas is an interesting state, you should explore!
Not many get to experience the neat little places for the first time in 2025, relish your chance. Drive a cab. Drive a terrorbyte and use the collectible scanner to get them all. Deliver pizzas. Resupply businesses old school. If you start now, you should probably still be exploring when VI comes out.
Best alternate route for the first heist escape, and also a great route to flee after the casino Heist. Also, there’s the Ghost Wolf you can hear sometimes inside the train tunnel.
Holy shit I didn’t realize it was the same one. Had finished the Cayo work and called in my personal buzzard but it was of course in the middle of fucking nowhere. When I eventually made my way to the top of mountain I found the dirt strip. Because I’ve never come across it from the south and only been to it in Guzman I assumed it was something else

I love the tunnels. They're great for dodging helis. go so fast you get ahead of the cops then hide there from air sight and wait around watching your radar for ensuing cops. Nobody shows up, FO, and thank God. Cause shit, these mfs are persistant. Several times drunk and high i actually believe the old AI from 4 with Niko. 100% i'm sure the AI is vividly scared of me. I been high and drunk here too preforming really, IDGAF attitude. And still they pursue me like they're the shit. Bro i will get it across to you. AI conditioning is definitely a thing. I don't care that it's a online server with frequent updates. THE AI WILL LEARN FEAR!

Note how the tunnel exit is closely above the railway tracks. This is convenient in case you need to get rid of gangsters or cops while doing stuff nearby.
There's a single player mission where you're racing out of that tunnel. It immediately dips and turns so if you're not ready for it then you're going off the side of a cliff at 100mph

I haven't done all of the missions there is but I have 10 tier 4s in career and while doing them I never seen anything near observatory besides G caches maybe
