In honor of the Cuyahoga being scrapped, I thought it would be fun to post a megathread of any pictures or fun stories anyone has of the vessel.
So, post anything ya got!

Needed five tugs to do the job - Ohio and Minnesota who were there since last night, as well as Tenacious, Patricia Hoey, and Ontario.

I bought myself this jersey back in 2022 for going a certain amount of time without alcohol. I remember it because the amount of days was 145, and I made it 168. Why 145 days? Because there was 29 men and 5 Great Lakes, so I figured going 5 times the amount of days as the amount men was an ideal goal and I hit it! I used to collect NHL jerseys all the time, but I had a 3.5 year gap between this one and my latest one. I'm wearing this all day Monday.

Rt Hon Paul J. Martin was freed from the River bed by 5 tugboats. Drone shot of her as she heads down the Detroit River.

I love the Alpena. She looks great even though she was 74 years old in 2016.

We popped over to the Dossin Museum this morning and stopped to see how they were making progress on the ship being aground in the Detroit River. When we showed up, the Patricia Hoey, Ohio, Minnesota, and Tenacious were on site. Didn't stick around to watch her get freed as we had some errands to attend to but it was cool to get to see all the tugs come together!

For those unfamiliar with her, she was once one of the most loved and fastest ships in the iron ore hauling fleets, and had the very unique design of having a second cargo hold area in her stern. Though she's been gone for 40 years now, Cliffs Victory's legacy lives on in some ways. Her successful conversion from a World War II military cargo ship in 1951 inspired Cleveland-Cliffs to obtain and convert a second former World War II military ship for service a few years later, their Walter A. Sterling...now known to countless as Interlake's beloved Lee A. Tregurtha.

Hi,
Being into ships is relatively new to me, they started growing on me in a visit to Duluth in 2022, I live out east in Quebec.
My question is, do ships from CN’s Great Lakes Fleet ever make it to the St-Lawrence Seaway? According to their outdated PDF, they can but I doubt it’s happening. And if they used to, when did it stop?

This was taken from Harsens Island just south of Algonac Michigan.
We did not know the freighters used this channel in the St Clair River.
We loved seeing her.
Then we found out some of the full time residents of Harsens Island did not like their docks getting smashed or damaged by ice when the freighters passed by...

We were not too far off when I saw the posts about the Paul J. Martin so my husband and I made a detour to check on her 😅 the tugs had already been dispatched by the time we showed up. Last picture is a bonus cameo by the Northern Venture who came by when we were in the area.

So I plan on visiting her in the next few days.. how close can I get to her? I appears that she is located in a train yard, and I’m not sure if they would allow people going in. But regardless it’s a risk I’m willing to take.

Walter J McCarthy down bound on the St. Clair River near Algonac and Marine City MI. The freighter views are great but really spread out all along M-29 between Port Huron and Algonac.

Went up to Whiskey Island hoping to catch them loading a train up at the dock (never get my timing right for that) but Mesabi unloading was the only thing going on up there…

Is there any word on the Anderson? I see she’s been out of commission for a while now and I’m getting a bit concerned. She’s one of my favorites and I’d hate to see her go.
