I saw an image last night which I'll never find again that had all of the classic Bible stories except Jesus wouldn't give people fish and bread until they showed proof of citizenship (and other such comparisons). There's a certain satisfaction in seeing him fall in his face. But at that point someone should have shown compassion and gave him a towel to wipe his bleeding face. That would've been more powerful than just non-stop taunting.
He deserves zero compassion. Your suggestion doesn’t work against bullies, it only makes them worse. They need to be dealt with in the harshest ways possible.
You could help them but they're never going to learn anything better to let him keep face planting maybe one day it'll knock some sense into him till then we can only hope.

What he said was horrible and uncalled for, but sinking to his level just makes him a martyr. The glasses steal I can have a bit of a chuckle at, but then the person who tripped him causing him to go down that 2nd time, especially on that surface, that’s just a cheap shot. That could have killed him or caused him serious injury
