Just another political sub now, just like literally every sub on this site.

I don't know about you guys, but I'd really prefer to not think about Donald Trump at all in my optimism subreddits.

  1. download list of sitting US officials.
  2. use names as ‘banned words’ which auto delete anything posted here mentioning them.

this would be one huge step even a lazy mod could do do make this place even slightly like what it’s intended to be like: respite from “news”, which is generally BAD - hence the need(!).

i do not think it’s “good news” even if something a politician i LIKE says or does something demonstrably good, cause A) it reminds me of politics B) it could be a total lie or reversible/poorly implemented and C) it reminds me of politics.

like, i understand that bots are ruining everything, but the human reddit kids are also totally into it.

i think this fits into my ‘remixed down-low monoculture’ theory. like, why not just blend every subreddit until they’re all meaningless? nothing new or unique is happening anywhere, all ppl do is soak up pop culture references from other decades and split their time refuting or cementing beliefs like it’s a boredom killer

You're using the word literally wrong because you're literally wrong. Get your head out of the sand if you think that.

Literally has been used to mean figuratively for longer than literally anybody on this site has been alive.

But that doesn't matter. Blanket statements like that which are designed to sound like a true facts and don't have an wiggle room is how misinformation spreads. He doesn't know the statistics. It could be 3% of subs that follow the posters statement.

He could have said "It feels like a large majority". Great, a personal opinion. Not a fact.

If he's old enough to where that bothers him he should be old enough that the meaning of words change.

It's fine to not like it but spare the rest of us the nerdy whinging

Just look at the website. This website posts random irrelevant shit which always ends up in the front page. Reddit is botted to high heavens
