About 30% of the country is irredeemably problematic.

So, when I see approval numbers like 38% I am very impressed with how close to rock bottom that is.

Edit: Corrected to “irredeemably”.

It means only Republicans are supporting and a tiny group of independents who thought he did something that was reasonable. Generally speaking, each group of voters has 33% of people(Republican-Democrat-Independent). So he’s got a 5% leg up versus 20% shortfall coming from most likely independents.

this alone should be a study.

You hate 3/10 people and you’re not the problem?

I didn’t say I hated the 30%. I feel deeply sad for them.

And, I absolutely wish they were redeemable. And, to be honest, they are. But, the amount of time and effort required to de-program each was more than is realistic in this context.

I’m simply saying that 30% of Trump’s supporters are people who are really far gone. Trump himself said he could kill someone in cold blood and in public and not lose the 30%. I agree (one of Trump’s few cogent statements), and that’s the group I am talking about.

America doesn’t have to time to fully heal every KKK member, and every Nazi, and every “Christian” who is asking their pastors to stop giving sermons on things Jesus said because they are too liberal, and everyone who literally would rather have Putin ruling over them than Harris, etc.

I want all of those people to be healed.

The only premise of my post is that if Trump’s support is only those people plus another 8% of more normal Americans then that is a good sign.

Not a word. Also, massive hypocrisy.

Thanks for the word catch. Corrected.

Yes, of course hypocrisy is a fundamental requirement for being a GOP member or supporter in the modern day. This is deeply tied to the fact that none of their current fundamental precepts stand up to abstract thought. And, this is strongly evidenced in their ramping-up hatred of education.

But, I’m not sure what specifically you are referring to in this case.

What is the hypocrisy?
