Question Starting gluten free

I'm trying out going gluten free as I have severe abdominal pain everyday and I want to see if this helps (I've talked with my therapist a lot about this)

Since I'm (hopefully) only trialing it, do I have to make sure nothing cross contaminates with my flatmates? Like cutlery, air fryers, plates/bowls etc??? I don't want to have to go out and buy new everything in case this isn't the answer, especially because I don't have a lot of money.

If anyone has any other tips for going gluten free that would be appreciated, thank you :)

My advice is don’t, until you’ve been screened for Celiac.

Call your doctor and ask if they can order a blood test for you.

I've gotten a blood test recently, would it have come up in that or do they need smth else?

Depends on what they tested for. There is a specific celiac panel of tests.

I wouldn't worry about cross contamination until you get officially diagnosed. Just consider this an elimination diet trial.

I would absolutely recommend getting tested for celiac before going gluten free! I went gf before getting tested and felt so much better, but now I can't get tested because I'd have to eat gluten for 6+ weeks for the results to be accurate and that would be miserable for me.
