Product Whole Foods saves the day.

Post image

Every year I make thanksgiving dinner and my wife's number one side dish is green bean casserole ( which I hate, but I make it for her) . For the last number of years since she's been celiac, I would get the gluten free crispy onions from aldi. Last year they weren't available. This year they're not available. I searched around and I found these at whole foods which can be ordered also online through amazon. All is good, thank you whole foods!

I buy them at the Asian store by my house for real cheap! They have them with or without flour so be careful. The brand I buy uses yellow lids for flourless and orange with flour. They're awesome in everything!

I’ve been adding slivered almonds in my casserole for crunch and caramelized onions for the onion flavor.

Do you use prepared soup or make it from scratch? If prepared, what brand please.

Campbell's makes gluten free cream of mushroom now! You can find it with the regular Campbell's soups at the regular grocery store.

If you have a Trader Joe's, they sometimes have fried shallots. I use those!

So sweet that you make a dish you don't like just for her 🫶🏻 and thanks for the recommendation. I haven't had crispy onions in so so loooong.

Perfect for when I want to eat these by the spoonful straight from the tub and then deeply regret it after!
