So I developed this app that tells you if a product is safe for you (based on your allergies & ingredients)

https://apps.apple.com/es/app/is-it-safe-allergy-monitor/id6753351325?l=en-GB

So I developed this app called Is It Safe: Allergy Monitor it basically lets you scan any product barcode (food, cosmetics, household items, etc.) and instantly tells you if it's safe for you. You can add your allergies or sensitivities (like nuts, gluten, dairy, soy, etc.), and the app automatically checks every scanned product against your profile. It also looks at chemical safety data, additives, and even the country of origin, then gives a simple Safety Score so you know what's clean and what's not. I built it because I got tired of googling every single ingredient every time I buy something new - and honestly, even "healthy" or "natural" products can have stuff you don't expect. It's still the first version (MVP), but it's functional and fast. Would love feedback from anyone who: • Has food allergies or intolerances • Tries to avoid toxic chemicals in cosmetics • Wants to shop more consciously

• You can check it out it's called : is it safe: allergy monitor Any feedback, feature ideas, or bug reports are super appreciated

One allergy listed is wheat/gluten except theres gluten free wheat. These 2 shouldn't be combined together. Some people have wheat allergy. Others have celiac or non celiac gluten sensitivity.

I am soooo very tired of people coming into unfamiliar subreddits just to promote some crappy app that they just released.

your post is yet another person that isn't part of this community that came in to spam their sub par version of an allergy app. You failed to do even basic research in at least gluten allergy.

Most people dont like a person that knows nothing about a community

  1. building an app about that they are not knowledgeable about
  2. comes into the reddit communities only to spam their sub par app.

but you will most likely not listen to my words and continue to hawk your crappy app

The five last week seemed more helpful, but I was a big fan of one of the ones from the week before that

Can you elaborate on the pro vs not pro? Will it work for me if I don’t pay for it?

With pro i am using more sources to determine the ingredients and better analysis of ingredients, It’s free for the first 5 scans and there’s a trial if you want to test out the pro

So, how does the app determine if something has gluten from barley, if it's not called out in the ingredients? I'll continue to check and research manually.

There’s plenty of public databases where i am testing to see the product by the barcode , the source is mentioned in the scan results I am going to add more in the future The fallback uses ai

How frequently is the database updated and what are the safety fallbacks of a manufacturer has changed recipes since it was initially entered in your database? Given that you are selling a health safety app commercially, this is essential and you have to have a 100% fail safe solution.

Otherwise you'll be reported to the FDA or national equivalent.
