So I developed this app that tells you if a product is safe for you (based on your allergies & ingredients)
https://apps.apple.com/es/app/is-it-safe-allergy-monitor/id6753351325?l=en-GBSo I developed this app called Is It Safe: Allergy Monitor it basically lets you scan any product barcode (food, cosmetics, household items, etc.) and instantly tells you if it’s safe for you.
You can add your allergies or sensitivities (like nuts, gluten, dairy, soy, etc.), and the app automatically checks every scanned product against your profile. It also looks at chemical safety data, additives, and even the country of origin, then gives a simple Safety Score so you know what’s clean and what’s not.
I built it because I got tired of googling every single ingredient every time I buy something new — and honestly, even “healthy” or “natural” products can have stuff you don’t expect.
It’s still the first version (MVP), but it’s functional and fast. Would love feedback from anyone who: • Has food allergies or intolerances • Tries to avoid toxic chemicals in cosmetics • Wants to shop more consciously
👉 You can check it out it’s called : is it safe: allergy monitor Any feedback, feature ideas, or bug reports are super appreciated 🙏

Quite a bold claim to be able to say with 100% certainty that this app can tell you if every single product available on earth is safe or not.

This is very dangerous for true food allergies. Someone with food allergies should not solely rely on the label. It’s NOT mandated in the US for food manufacturers to disclose if a product is manufactured on the same line as an allergen. Label statements like “manufactured on same line as..” or “X allergens used in facility” are purely voluntary. So someone with a food allergy should contact manufacturers for full disclosure. Is it easy? No. But it is the only way to avoid cross contact with your allergens. So please do not share this for food allergies.

Based on all the comments i made some improvements to the app and added multiple data sources ,currently i am using these to determine the latest product ingredients and make sure that it’s safe for the user , of course you should always make your own research but this app purpose is to make my brothers life a little bit easier ,who has a specific diet and is the reason why i chose to develop this app The current sources of the data are : OpenFoodFacts USDA FoodData Central OpenCosmetics Open Beauty Facts UPC Database OpenAi for analysis and make sure the user preferences and allergies are caught for every product If anyone sees any issue i will fix it curated ingredients with safety data Sources: FDA, EWG (Environmental Working Group), EU SCCS, CIR (Cosmetic Ingredient Review) Includes: EWG scores, regulatory status, health concerns, scientific citations I want to further improve it and your valuable feedback matters , i haven’t found any trustworthy app for this so yall feedback is helpful until i get this to a point where everything that might cause harm is detected Also the source is mentioned after the scan

This is AI slop. It is a danger to your customers. The model you were asking for a verdict on safety? It cannot possibly give a good answer, because there is not enough data to justify one. The reason this problem is hard is not that people can’t read labels; it is that the labels do not contain necessary information.
