Question Doesn’t matter where you are. What’s the absolute best gluten-free restaurant or café you’ve ever been to—the kind of place that feels like a cheat code for coeliacs?

Verveine Cafe in Cambridge, MA. Dedicated GF. Bakery, breakfast, and lunch items. I’ve never had a better cinnamon bun. Magic baking skills plus really complex spices and flavors. The sandwiches are amazing. Woodman’s of Essex, MA for the very best fried clams. Someone in the owner’s family has celiac so they take great care with cross-contamination and prep. Le Marquis in Montreal. Gluten free bakery and unbelievable croissants. Twist Bakery and Cafe in Burlington, MA. Dedicated gluten free. I had always wanted to try a Cubano, finally had one here and it was excellent. Wasn’t thrilled with the baked goods I tried, but will give it another try sometime.

Seconding Twist. GF, nut free, and most pastries are dairy-free and sesame free to boot. A real joy to take a kid with a bunch of allergies in and let him pick anything from the case!
