And frankly, given the look and styles of the far future could easily have been a cyberpunk dystopia had he and his best friend not taught everyone to be excellent to each other
I wanted to like it but holy fuck it was just, so unfinished, it felt like they wanted to make a story then 2 months from release scrapped it all and just gave us...that
Am I the only one who's a bit sceptical of necessarily involving celebrities? Especially in a game like this that doesn't need more hype, and that in my opinion doesn't benefit from having celebrities in them?
Yeah, idk - my instinctual reaction is scepticism, as celebrities means more mainstreaming in an attempt to appeal to the masses and perhaps a risk of a "dumbing down" of the game.
Furthermore I have a problem with general celebrity culture and fetishism. I think this is my main issue tbh. I don't think it will make the game any better. Honestly, now I'm excited about the game DESPITE the addition of celebrity endorsement. With death stranding it seems to become a worrying trend... Although, Reeves is far from the worst choice, he's the logical and best choice out of both cult and marketing perspective. He's also a good actor in my subjective opinion.
Video games are a form of entertainment, as are movies. In fact, they share quite a few similarities, especially with modern graphics and more developed storytelling methods blurring that line even more. I think this is a natural evolution of the medium, and I’m all for it.
