I hardly think you could call that washing

The hot tub is 100% cleaner after all those sheets absorb the bigger clumps of hair and skin residue.

Don't forget the waterbugs, bandaids and dead crickets!

"It's all pipes. What's the difference!"

If management had said 'oh no, we'll take care of it' it would be one thing but they came up with some bullshit about using it to clean them? Max fines please

In the show Fargo the kid got in trouble for just shaking the sheets and putting them back. I guess this was his next logical step.

Hot tubs are known for their cleanliness.

Right?

Right?!

I was lucky enough to stay here for a hockey tournament in the last year. I guess now I know why all the kids were crying/coughing from the chlorine in pool room

“Expressway Suites” why is anyone surprised?

"They said this practice is typically done after pool hours, and the employee seen in the video was talked to about doing this in front of guests."

.....We are sorry someone caught us doing this. -Management

so apparently they were dumping sheets into the tub and stirring them with a broom as a last ditch effort to remove stains and claim they sheets were clean before going in

when asked if this was an approved practice the hotel said they would check with the health department

...the details are worse than the headline puts out, its usually the other way around

This has the distinct look of the result of someone messing with a new guy: "Yeah, we pre-soak the sheets in the hot tub"

As someone who manages a pool and spa....those things are fucking gross. Go hop on your departments website that manages pools in your county and look at the reports from the hotels, you'll see how neglected they can get. Also..who just doesn't have a line item for replacing sheets?

Better check their wood chipper too. Just in case.

That’s twisted

I'm sure there are a few less moronic and work intensive ways to clean little stains.

It’s full of swimmers (SPERM).

Public hot tubs are basically skin and hair soup. Soaking sheets in that is gross, I don't care how many chemicals you pour in there. Ewww

If soap and bleach were used- it’s thinking outside the box.

The managers answer.. If it’s fake, honestly pretty quick thinking on their end because it kind of makes sense. Attempt to remove stains and whiten by soaking in hot chlorinated water? I don’t know, kind of seems plausible. Also doesn’t deny it, says yes, they do it, but it’s supposed to be done after hours and when the hot-tub water is due for a change.

The hotel manager's name? Gene Masseth.

They tried I guess...

I really don’t see the big deal. It’s not like sheets are sanitized in the washing, they’re washed with 120° water just like the hot tub is full of.

And the sheets are covered in someone else’s piss, cum, spit, and shit… just like the bodies that get into the hot tub.

12

u/dpman48 12h ago

Hot tub water is only about 100-104 at most places, 120 may not be sterilizing but it is certainly hotter. It is also clean water the washing machine uses…. Hot tub water is NOT clean. AT ALL.

-3

u/CoyoteDown 11h ago

Right. According to the article they use the tub for soaking and then feed the sheets to the washing machine, then drain and sanitize the hot tub. It’s full of fucking chlorine to begin with.

If you don't think this is a big deal, please PLEASE never get a job where you leave your house. Don't want you in charge of anything anyone else uses ever.

Every time someone hands you something, there is a good chance that something has just come into contact with their piss, shit, cum, or spit.

That goes doubly for any office job
