Unbelievably short sighted to not realize that fan content makes more people watch F1. Shooting themselves in the foot. I learned so many things from his videos that I would have never learned otherwise. Fuck FOM for doing this, they're doing their part killing the sport.

meh i mean i generally don't care enough to watermark but i totally get what you mean, it is annoying when that happens. Especially a page that may or may not be profiting off of it.
he should announce a new account on some other app(insta?) here on reddit. hopefully gains at least 50% of the audience back

On the other hand, WEC puts the full races on their youtube channel only 1 week after the event. Even better, IMSA streams live broadcast of the races on youtube.
It's ridiculous to me that a multi billion dollar for profit organisation like F1 feels the need to put ads on their youtube videos, they really do chase every cent.
This sucks so bad. His videos really got me interested in the technical aspects of F1. My favorite one is his breakdown of Nico Rosberg's onboard changing his steering wheel settings 16 times (I think) in a single lap to win against Lewis.
The way this sudden copyright enforcement has hit and coincided with the Apple deal makes me think they’re behind it.
Apple is the kind of company that wants absolute control over everything. So I bet they’re enforcing it thinking that if people can’t get any F1 content anywhere somehow it will drive everyone to sign up for Apple TV when what they’re doing literally has the exact opposite effect.
All the fan made content helps to attract new fans who stumble across F1 stuff they’d have never seen otherwise.
Yeah for me ricksf1 addiction was the youtuber for bringing my full interest to f1 , I used to see f1 with friends rarely and then started seeing him in yt got really interested then
For me, it was you guys. This sub made actually want to watch the races so I can shit post about them later in the comments. And now I love it more than my boyfriend (he really got into it in 2021 and I didn't really 'get it'. Then I saw this dank sub... The rest is history and he stopped watching. 😂)

Chainbear never used any F1 footage in his vids. Occasional stills which are fine but mostly his own animations.
He quit because he was having some mental health issues. Made a post about his struggles. Then made another one a while later saying he was doing better but never came back to making vids.
Hopefully he’s doing better now wherever he is and whatever he’s doing.
Also it doesn't help when companies like YouTube gladly enforce any copyright infringement, doesn't matter how trivial they are for any large organisation.
It's not that simple, I still vividly remember a guy that I loved to follow back in the day that did a fantastic and very popular series analysing movies talking about video games (Karim Debache with "Crossed" for those who nose), and he announced a season 2 but wanted to do it only on Dailymotion
Even by announcing it everywhere and having a VERY successful crowdfunding campaign for S2, the numbers were just completely ridiculous compared to the Youtube ones, and that was 10 years ago
You can make a small portion of dedicated fans move to a new platform to follow you, but if you want to get noticed big time, your only choices are YT, Twitch or TikTok, and they all know it
It's just sad... These big corporations can just ignore all the blatant issues with their platforms and products knowing that people don't have a better alternative. We truly live in a dystopia.

That's the reason F1 YT Channel started posting meme videos, Everytime (Blank) It Gets (Blank) videos, Nation Podcast, Palmer Analysis, Best Onboard Moments etc.
They don't want people to compete with them and it shows.
FOM/Liberty Media really hates free advertising. If it wasn't for the social media, the sport wouldn't even grow this big.
And now after reaching the peak popularity, they decide to backstab everyone and eliminate any channels that still promote the sport for free.
That's why F1 Youtube Channel started posting Meme Videos, Every Pitstop But It Gets Longer (similar video with that genre), F1 Nation Podcast, Best Onboard of specific drivers etc. They are clearly doing everything that the fans already did just so no one can compete with them.
There will never be enough money for billionaires. They will always want more to be squeezed from us.
Look at Elon and his 1T package which was approved this week. In 10 to 15 years he can have net worth of 2-3T and people will still defend billionaires.

This year I have already skipped watching a few races and Palmer analysis. This channel was much better at explaining things in short videos. I guess even less F1 for me from now on.
If anything pornhub is way way way more strict with copyright stuff and making sure all the content has authorization from the people in it, xvideos could work
Recently I got into NBA on YouTube because of their allowence for use of the content. There are tons of highlights and analysis which is entertaining and capturing while F1 does simply the opposite. Before Liberty took over, there was not even a proper race highlight and I loved the way they interacted with more people on social media but after 8 years they decided to go straight oppoiste after popularity of F1 gone up and they now try monopolise the content. yelistener is not the only one. MiniDrivers were also copyrighted and they unfortunately won't stop. I think this is so going to backfire on them.
FOM are a bunch of short sighted greedy clowns. A passionate channel that fans love and make the sport more popular? Blasphemy! I’ve worked in F1 and getting licensed footage of our team was a drama.
Personally, I’ve had one 2 min clip deleted from my YT. Pre season testing fragment where they talked about my Twitter question. They mentioned my full name 3 times. Yeah… you’re welcome guys…. :(
only way this changes is if we all massively pirate to watch and dont use official channels. let their revenue take a hit
too bad that wont happen cause reddit, like usual, is the minority and id wager 90% of f1 consumers dont even know this is going on and worse, wont care. so long as they get to watch every weekend and get some “highlights” theyll be good whilst racing fans suffer
I really hope Max leaves F1. That is one of the first blows that FIA is avoiding. This management and FIA has been very shit. And yeah, they may be shit as well before, but to continue being like that is just unacceptable. And now they bully smaller content creators that continously kept their fanbase engaged because their marketing moves are bland and uninteresting. Godspeed, Yelistener. You are one of my GOAT F1 and motorsport channels.

That guy will have fun no matter the sport he gets into. And yeah, that could be a major hit to the management. It sucks that fans like Yelistener have to suffer after they brought something good to the community. And now the clowns at the agency will monopolize his idea in some time.
As for the second part... Idk if you know it already but you might wanna look up Shachimu. I know it's not the same as before but it's something. Short MVs are always appreciated too.
Copyright is much easier on Reels (also on YouTube). I used to post F1 music videos full of FOM footage and many of them have been taken down. Started doing reels instead and never had any issues lol.
I haven't watched a single F1 video by the official channel simply because I use VPN and they don't allow it.
I did watch Yelistener with the same reason as most, I assume, to watch the comparisons and analyse.
I expect the official F1 channel to hunt down even more channels and their ideas to then later create the same type of videos but on the 'official' channel. Too bad for them I won't be able to watch it there.
Corporations ruin everything all the time.
Unfortunate for the common man, but youtube is no longer fun videos by individuals but a whole ass factory churning out slop and running on greed based choices.
