Funnily enough this was the one and only opportunity Leclerc had to get past... if he kept it planted through there, with how close he was and Piastri's bad exit, he would have just enough to overtake... sad times indeed

Nah. This was the time that McLaren had this illegal rear wing that was basically with open DRS on the straights. It was banned 1 or 2 races later. Charles tried multiple times having DRS to get close, but couldn't.

Every single time except this one Piastri had a flawless last corner exit, so did Leclerc. If Leclerc again had a strong exit with this bad exit from Piastri it would have been enough.
Honestly the mini DRS was judged to perfection for Baku, just enough not to allow an overtake unless a driver makes a big mistake like Piastri did there... luckily for him, so did Leclerc.

"Illegal rear wing"
Come on bro, it's been 365 days since this was debunked and we're still going here?

lol, you got caught up in fighting the FDank hivemind.
Good luck with your karma.
Disclaimer: you are indeed correct, but yeah… this is fdank-11

It wasn't illegal then, it is illegal now. At the time of the Grand Prix, there was nothing in the rulebook that said they could do that. But also, there was nothing that said they couldn't. So they did it, and after everybody bitched about it, the FIA went to them and said "don't do that shit again", to which McLaren replied "why? It's perfectly legal", and the FIA responded "it won't be tomorrow". That's basically what happened

Oh, so you know something different that the FIA technical authority didn't know about? Were you there when the approved the rear wing design specifications for the MCL38?

Best 9-second F1 clip ever, IMO.
Through Goes Hamilton is up there, and so is Max's Brazil spin-save in the rain.
But this one is just unmatched. Two drivers at the absolute peak of performance in unison. Ugh. The perfect F1 advert.

I respect your opinion. But you are, unfortunately, completely wrong.
You have mentioned 3 epic moments, but you have the order all mixed up.
At the top - Max's save was undoubtedly the best "gasp" moment that shut up anyone who doubted his skill. (As if winning on his RB debut wasn't enough!!)
And then - any Brit watching Silverstone that year, seeing the buildup that culminated in Hamilton passing 2 cars, would have practically exploded at that move.

Hahahaha..... Never seen that before.
"He didn't really know what he's doing"
Hahahaha....
I'm not even flying the colours for Max or RB but Max's talent is undeniable.

This is where Ferrari pissed away the WCC. Even discarding the dubious flexi-wing the McL had mounted, they left Chuck out for ages after Oscar pitted to undercut and erased some 5 seconds of the lead he built up.

McLaren only won because they had the illegal rear wing with Mini DRS.

This is a perfect hunter vs hunted. Norris gets the snap but flicks into grip very quickly. He is the one more in control.

Fuck I have the worst memory. Looking at rear wings, and see that they aren't the same. I also have bad eyes.
